Equipping people with the knowledge to act before health risks escalate is how we move from responding to early action. It’s how health systems build a more informed and responsive community alongside them, and it’s how we can live longer healthier lives.
Health literacy enables communities to make informed decisions, access the right care, and intervene early. At the systems level, it becomes a multiplier: reducing emergency care demand and improving chronic disease outcomes.
Globally, where health literacy rises, so does prevention. Abu Dhabi's Healthy Living strategy is already embedding this into daily life with initiatives like Nutri-Mark helping communities make informed choices.
An informed community is a healthier community and creates a stronger foundation for any health system which is built to anticipate.
