🍲 My Easy Longevity Dhal (15–20 minutes)

Ingredients
• 1 cup red lentils (masoor dhal), rinsed
• 3 cups water or vegetable broth
• 1 small onion, finely chopped
• 2 cloves garlic, minced
• 1 tsp grated ginger
• 1 tsp turmeric
• 1 tsp cumin
• ½ tsp coriander powder
• 1 tomato, chopped (or 1 tbsp tomato paste)
• Salt and pepper to taste
• 1 tbsp olive oil or ghee
Optional upgrades
• Handful of spinach
• 1 can coconut milk for creaminess
• Fresh cilantro
• Squeeze of lemon
Method
Heat olive oil or ghee in a pot.
Sauté the onion for 3–4 minutes until soft.
Add garlic, ginger, turmeric, cumin, and coriander. Cook for 30 seconds.
Add the tomato and cook for another minute.
Stir in the lentils and water.
Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Once creamy, add spinach (if using) and cook for 1 more minute.
Season with salt, pepper, and a squeeze of lemon.
👨⚕️ My Integrative Doctor Upgrade
To make it even more blood sugar-friendly and skin-friendly:
• Add 1 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil after cooking.
• Serve with a side of arugula or mixed greens.
• Pair with grilled salmon or 2 boiled eggs for extra protein.
• Add ½ teaspoon of black pepper to enhance turmeric absorption.
This simple meal delivers fiber, plant protein, iron, polyphenols, and anti-inflammatory compounds that help support healthy aging, stable blood sugar, and long-term metabolic health.
💚 Sometimes the most powerful longevity meals are also the simplest.
