If people saw this they’d probably report me. 😂

And if they knew the full story? It gets worse. 🙊

➡️These dogs sleep outside. 😱
➡️They spend hours in the Dubai sun every single day. 🌞
➡️ They are banned from dog parks ❌❌
➡️They eat raw whole food without rice and quinoa for energy 🫠🫠
➡️Raven is still intact, she free bleeds
➡️They dig wherever they want to

By modern dog standards ➡️➡️this is basically abuse and I am probably the worst.

Because the modern dog is an indoor dog. Which is also fine.

Because most dogs can’t tolerate the scorching heat.

But indoor dogs also deserve clean indoor environments.

Now I’m not asking that you buy organic bed linen, but small changes like nontoxic household cleaning products go a long way.

Anywhoo… I dropped the dogs in the middle of nowhere. Not one of them moved. ✨

And the worst part? I didn’t even have treats.

How dare I. 😂

Here’s another one to watch out for because apparently “trust us, vet approved “ is still bloody good marketing strategy 🙃

Not everything that looks premium is actually transparent, and that gap is exactly where pet parents get misled.

And yes, I have a problem with that. How dare I ???

Weird right … the one that speaks up for the voiceless is the one that’s the biggest problem… but those that are manufacturing and selling products that are dangerous to health and well-being are the salt of the Earth 🙊

And no, this isn’t something that should be whispered about in private conversations.

Transparency in an industry feeding living beings belongs in the open.

And if you don’t like it - DO Better!!!

Dogs deserve better !!

I’ve spoken at length about high carbohydrate diets so I’m not going to do a deep dive in this post.

Instead, I wanted to share something that often gets overlooked especially if you have a dog predisposed to joint issues.

➡️➡️➡️Diet in osteoarthritis research is becoming harder to ignore.

I’ve added the research article on slide 3, so you can read it for yourself.

Examples of complex carbohydrates:
🌾 oats
🌾 rice
🌾 potatoes
🌾 corn
🌾 quinoa
🌾 lentils

❌❌❌ This does not belong in your dogs dish daily

Please read the below with intention and clarity: 👇🏼

‼️ Digestibility does not equal bioavailability ‼️

Diet sometimes even more important for doggies with joint issues .. and how common is this In Dubai???

➡️You can do all the hydrotherapy, acupuncture, and rehab exercises you want‼️but if the foundation isn’t right, you’re always going to be fighting a losing battle!

And let’s not ignore one simple truth:

What we feed our pets matters more than we’ve been led to believe.✨

Dandelion 🌼 one of the most underrated herbs I use.

I’ve been making my own extracts and dry my own herbs for years now because I love it and quality truly matters.

If you’re using something to support detox pathways, it has to be chemical-free and herbicide-free… otherwise you’re working against the body, not with it.

I use dandelion this time of year during seasonal change, and especially in dogs that need that extra support. I remember some of you met me last year or the year before and I’ve given you bags of dried herbs.

Yes - all clean , pesticide free!

There’s also a lot of conversation around dandelion and cancer (particularly dandelion root extract in lab studies), but it’s important to remember that these are herbs, not a cure. And should be used with intention.

And as always — dosing is never one-size-fits-all. Every dog is different, and that’s exactly how I approach it.

Simple. Intentional. Powerful when done right.

I know everyone in the UAE especially businesses are going gaga over eastern medicine but there’s so much depth when you marry both eastern and western medicine and I’m a firm believer in dipping in and out of different modalities.

Anyways, here is to continuously learning growing and evolving

We talk about the liver like it’s just a detox organ but it’s a powerhouse.Metabolism, hormones, immunity, nutrient processing… it does far more than most realise.

What I’m seeing right now is multiple dogs with elevated liver enzymes which is not a coincidence. It’s a pattern.

And it’s exactly why I spoke about this four months ago.

Post-winter in the UAE is a transition period the body feels deeply: environmental spraying, heat shift, and accumulated exposure all start to show up.‼️‼️‼️

🙌This is why I keep emphasising proactive care.Disease doesn’t happen overnight. It builds quietly over time.

➡️And the same applies to nutrition in food with high starch loads, hidden carbs… the impact is cumulative.‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️

If you’re living in Dubai, you already know the environment adds another layer. While modalities like homeopathy can be supportive, we need to zoom out & some of you may not be ready to hear this but ➡️ one tincture a day is not a strategy. 🤦🏾‍♀️

We all want the best for our dogs & this page isfor pet parents who value awareness, prevention over reaction and those that are open to make changes!

Because once you see patterns, you can’t unsee them. And I’ve been seeing these patterns for years now ✨ have a look at some of my old content where I talk about observing environmental patterns, in Dubai!

9K done this morning 🏃‍♀️

I try to give the doggies as active a lifestyle as possible with one goal in mind …

➡️➡️ How do I keep them moving comfortably?

Having dogs predisposed to joint issues, I am extremely obsessive about supporting them as nature intended, supplementing thoughtfully, so they can continue to move with ease.

So let’s talk mushrooms. I stumbled across recently, and we’ve been using the mushrooms consistently…

🍄Reishi supporting calm, recovery, and the nervous system. It also contains compounds that help reduce inflammation.

🍄 Lion’s Mane - well most people associated with cognitive support, what you don’t realize is that this mighty mushroom promotes nerve regeneration reducing Neuro inflammation of the spinal cord…

Just having these extracts available locally for both humans and pets is incredibly helpful And yes — I look for quality & third party testing here too!

Incorporating mushrooms into your diet consistently is a fantastic way to support overall health. And as always, the key is rotation, rotation, rotation.

This morning we had Reishi and Lions Mane. Tonight I’ll add Chaga and Turkey Tail.

Movement, recovery, nourishment. That’s the rhythm.

Breeding & pet shops selling animals in the UAE.

‼️Yes, I have a problem with unethical inhumane breeding practices ‼️

I responded to someone advertising their pet shop (selling animals) recently, and it’s reminded me of something we need to talk about more openly.

We need to do better.

This platform will always be used to ADVOCATE even when it’s hard!! And some of you won’t like it - but the uncomfortable truth needs to be said.

In the pet health space - remember this: Just because something is licensed or approved by municipality does not automatically mean it reflects the best outcome for animal welfare.

Across the region, shelters and rescue organisations are overwhelmed with abandoned and surrendered animals!

We simply need to do better!!

Have you seen recent post?

We are living in a world where micro plastics are just about everywhere , from the coffee enjoy to the food we consume - understanding the source can help us be proactive in our approach as we navigate the space together with our pets.

Think about reducing your dog’s overall toxic load where you can:
✨ cleaner ingredients
✨ less processed options when possible
✨ mindful sourcing
✨ supporting detox pathways

You’re not going to eliminate microplastics completely. No one can.

But you can stack the odds in your dog’s favor with better everyday choices.

I actually posted this a year ago… but right now, it feels even more relevant. I’ve updated it because Dubai spring/ summer is a whole different conversation.

When the temperatures rise, our dogs naturally slow down. They’re not moving as much, they’re not out for long walks, and they’re definitely not getting the same level of natural circulation they would in cooler weather.

And that matters more than most people realise…

‼️Because the lymphatic system relies on movement to circulate.‼️

Unlike the cardiovascular system, it doesn’t have a pump. So when activity drops, lymphatic drainage can become sluggish. And this system plays a huge role in detoxification, immune function, and overall inflammation balance.

That’s where these simple spring herbs come in:

🌼 Calendula
Supports lymphatic drainage and helps keep things moving when your dog is naturally less active in the heat.

🌿 Nettles
Amazing for helping regulate histamine levels in the body especially helpful with seasonal sensitivities. Nothing fancy needed here, just loose organic leaves. Brew it into a tea and pour it over kibble or gently cooked or raw meals (you can even freeze it into cubes).

🌱 Dandelion
Helps remove excess water from the body by supporting the kidneys and liver; gentle, effective drainage support.

And yes… dandelion tinctures are almost ready 👀
Give me about 2 more weeks and they’ll be good to go.

Sometimes it’s not about adding more supplements, it’s about supporting the body in the way it actually functions, especially in a climate like ours.

Food is more than just calories and energy.

High-starch, high-sugar diets mean repeated blood sugar spikes which result in constant insulin release.

Over time, this can lead to insulin resistance.

And insulin isn’t just a blood sugar hormone…it is a growth signal.

Chronically elevated insulin levels have been linked to:
➡️ increased inflammation
➡️ stimulation of cell proliferation
➡️ metabolic environments that can support tumour growth

‼️‼️Carbohydrates aren’t “bad” but daily reliance on, high-starch diets can shift the body in ways most pet parents aren’t told about.‼️‼️

Start to look at the bigger picture.

Because what you feed today shapes your dog’s health long-term.

Dogs deserve better !

As a graduate of the , we spent a lot of time studying canine physiology and understanding what a dog is actually built to eat.

❔A dog’s jaw doesn’t move side to side like a cow/ herbivore. It moves up and down designed to tear, crush, and break down food, not grind it.

Their teeth are sharp (have you seen them tear a RMB?), their stomach acid is strong (like battery acid) and their digestive system is equipped to handle whole food / proteins, including fish.

So can dogs eat raw fish? Yes.
And what about the bones? When raw, fish bones are flexible, and digestible which is very different from cooked bones, which are where the real risk lies.

But like everything in fresh feeding, context matters.

Sourcing, freshness, and feeding appropriately for your dog all play a role.
