Permission - Hello ✨

yes I am still here

Deep in the postpartum phase with my today, ONE month old baby. 🧡

What a transformative time. Time distorts. Every day is different. It takes surrendering.

My learning right now is giving permission… and I am giving myself permission to watch my followers go down and feel anxious. To feel all the feelings AND to not be sure how to move forward right now BUT there will be time for that and it’s not now.

No matter what chapter of life or experiences and or struggles you having right now. GIVE YOURSELF PERMISSION ✨🔥

I found a poem that really resonated and wanted to share with you all. Yes it’s specific to being a new mom BUT I believe
It can resonate for many stages and chapters of life.

GIVING Ourselves PERMISSION IS A STRUGGLE FOR US ALL ✨

Newborn Mama,

You are allowed:

To say “no” to phone calls To say “not yet” to visitors To say “yes” to your needs

You are allowed:
To say “I need help”
To cry about everything
To whinge about nothing

You are allowed:
To feel “touched out”
To not want to hand them over
To ask others to pass them back

You are allowed:
To feel overwhelmed
To feel underwhelmed
To feel both at the same time

You are allowed:
To rest
To ignore the mess
To clean if that’s what you want

You are allowed:
To be moody
To feel resentful
To not understand how you are feeling some days

You are allowed.
Because this is your baby.
Because this is an important time in your life and the start of someone else’s.

Because you will never get this time back, but there will be more time for everything else.

You are allowed and you should.
Because this is hard.
Because you need to make it easier for yourself.
Because your feelings matter too.

Today is Five years of having my Business 🤓

This picture taken exactly 5 years ago. I went out with friends to celebrate.

Five years of building a therapy practice in a country that was not originally my own. Five years of learning, growing, taking risks, starting over, and believing in something before I could see where it would lead.

There were moments of doubt. Moments of loneliness. Moments when building a business in a foreign country felt incredibly hard. But there were also so many moments of deep meaning — the people I’ve met, the trust I’ve been given, the lives I’ve had the privilege to be part of, and the little signs along the way that reminded me: keep going.

Today, I’m not only celebrating five years of my business.

I’m celebrating myself.

The courage it took to begin.
The strength it took to keep going.
The resilience it took to build something from the ground up.
And the version of me who dared to create a life and a practice far from familiar ground.

9 years ago, I had a dream. Today, I get to look at what I’ve built and say:

I did this. 🥹✨

Here’s to five years — and to giving myself permission to be proud of how far I’ve come.

Celebrating this chapter, this journey, this business, and most importantly, me. 🥂🤍

The waiting room - being in limbo

40 weeks and 6 days ✨ and thanks for the heatwave Vienna 😂

I must admit at this stage, time is such a strange experience. The waiting, the questioning…

Is it starting yet? Is this it? How much longer? Am I doing something wrong?

The mind is so fascinating in any chapters of waiting. Waiting for that phone call, the result, the train, the moment, the answer, the text and even the feeling.

How do we comfort ourselves in the discomfort of waiting?!
My chosen way is to use distraction, fun and my breath.
Of course these are short term solutions for longer waiting time it@requires trust.

Reassuring myself that I am safe and my journey is unique. Focus on the here & now.

I hope that if you are also in some form of waiting that you find ways to comfort yourself 🌻✨🌼🧡

Your morning routine ✨🌻 theta state / brain hack

No one is making documentary about your morning routine but why they could be.

I’m sure your probably sick of hearing this because you see it every where online

BUT it’s true.

Your morning routine is essential to managing your mental health. Why?

Your brain transitions through THETA waves upon waking up.
The theta state when you wake up is the fictional bridge between sleep and full consciousness. This state acts as a gateway to deep relaxation, emotional processing, and neuroplasticity.

If you grab your phone first thing and start scrolling you skip this state, you spike your cortisol and creating an anxious baseline for your day.

Theta waves are closely connected to hypnotic states. This means your brain is highly influential first thing in the morning.

Little brain hack

Start small, don’t use your phone for the first 10mins you awake.

Choose to put positivity and gratitude into those first minutes of your day. I recommend doing it in bed.
Start with some affirmations and breathing 😮‍💨

It’s always difficult to start something new. So start small!! 🧡🧡

Should questions| statements | therapy insight ✨

When someone asks should questions it usually suggests they seeking validation or reassurance.

As therapists we deliberately avoid giving direct advice. We would rephrase or reframe the question. For example
“If you took the word ‘should’ out of that sentence entirely, what are you actually wanting to do?”

In my therapy work, my clients get use to me using, replacing and practising alternatives to “should”

From my approach, using “should” reflects a level of shame. Especially should statements like “ I should have know better”, “I should have seen it sooner” etc

Shaming ourselves is not helpful. So I switch to a learning mindset and a mindset of exploration, even curiosity.

In the therapy room, we practice “ I could have”
or “I can”.

Try notice how often you using the word should. 🧡

Therapist Reactions 🌻

Historically we are told how therapist have to be neutral and blank as to not influence your response or bring their own stuff into the therapy. This is true but it’s not as black and white as we are told.

I believe seeing your therapist honest reaction can give great insight into your experience of something. Sometimes and of course done with care, your therapists HUMAN reaction can validate you!

Show you that actually yes you can be upset about that!

What do you think 🤔
