Expression of Interest - World Duchenne Awareness Day 2026 Community Day 🎈

We are looking at celebrating WDAD2026 with our South Australia community by hosting a FREE get together with a sausage sizzle, hot chips and plenty of fun activities for all.

This would be between 11:00am - 1:00pm @ Butler Reserve, Butler Drive Hendon SA 5014. But, with Father's Day falling the weekend of the 7th, we are looking at the weekend after and want to hear from you 💚

💚 Therapy isn't just about improvement.

When people think about therapy, they often imagine learning new skills or becoming more independent. While this can be true, it's not the only measure of success.

For people living with progressive conditions like Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, therapy often focuses on maintaining autonomy and independence where we can to support participation and building skills to adapt as needs change. Preventing decline, making everyday activities easier, or helping someone continue doing the things they enjoy are all meaningful outcomes.

Every person's goals are different, and therapy should reflect what matters most to them. Success isn't always about reaching the next milestone. We know it can also be about making sure an individual has quality of life, no matter how this longs for them, and continuing to live as meaningfully as possible.

💚 Spin Kids – Building friendships through shared interests.

Spin Kids is our social group for children and young people with neuromuscular conditions, providing a welcoming space to connect, have fun, and spend time with others who understand similar experiences.

From gaming, Warhammer, arts and crafts, and cooking to community outings and holiday adventures, every session is designed to encourage friendships, build confidence, and develop social skills in a relaxed and supportive environment.

Whether we're creating together at The NeuroHub or exploring the community, there's always something to look forward to.
