Let’s be honest - “just don’t drink” isn’t realistic advice for most people.

We’d rather you have the tools to enjoy a drink and support your body at the same time. So here’s what we actually recommend in clinic:

1️⃣ Eat before you drink - a meal with protein and good fats slows the alcohol down and keeps your blood sugar steadier

2️⃣ Match every drink with a glass of water - most of that next-day fog is really just dehydration

3️⃣ Rethink the mixers - the sugar in cocktails and soft drinks is often harder on your body than the alcohol itself. Clear spirit, soda water, fresh lime.

4️⃣ Let your body recover - rehydrate the next morning, eat well, and build in a few alcohol-free days

It’s not about being perfect. It’s about being strategic.

Christmas in July, minus the champagne... but how?

Doing Dry July doesn’t mean sitting out the celebrations. It just means getting a little creative with what’s in your glass.

Here’s what we’re cheersing with in the clinic this week:

🍐 1/4 pear juice
❤️ 1/4 pomegranate juice
✨ 1/2 sparkling water

Pour it over ice, top with fresh fruit, and you’ve got yourself a delicious festive drink.

Same ritual with zero hangover, and your hormones that actually get a break (thats a win, win, win in our books).

Let us know if you give this one a go, and comment “DRINK” - we’ve got more of our favourite alcohol-free swaps coming your way!

That nightly glass of wine hits differently after 40, doesn’t it...

You’re not drinking more than you used to. But suddenly it’s the 2am wake-ups, the foggy mornings, the moods that swing without warning (we’ve all been there before).

Here’s the thing - it’s not in your head. It’s your liver.

After 40, it’s already busy managing shifting hormones. When alcohol enters the picture, it jumps the queue every single time, and everything else gets pushed to the back of the line.

Your body isn’t broken. It’s just asking for something different than it did at 30.

That’s why we love Dry July as an experiment. Not a punishment, not a forever rule - just one month of giving your body a chance to show you what it can do.

Let us know if you’re giving Dry July a go below in the comments 💫

We talk a lot about supplements, hormones and the latest health trends...

But some of the most powerful healing tools don’t come in a bottle.

They look like real food, sunlight, strength training, quality sleep, staying hydrated, and spending time with people who make you feel good.

These are the foundations we come back to time and time again in clinic because they support your body in ways that no quick fix ever can.

They’re simple. They’re often overlooked. And they work.

Which one do you think you could prioritise more this week? Tell us below 💫

Not to call you out, but your wine habit may be the reason why your perimenopause is flaring up... 👀

We hear it constantly - exhausted, foggy, irritable, sleeping terribly. And it gets written off as “just” perimenopause.

But your liver doesn’t see it that way.

Every night it’s processing alcohol, it’s not fully processing your hormones, they run through the same pathway.

Here’s what actually changes when you take that pressure off for 31 days:

Days 1–3, your liver stops splitting its attention.
Week 1, sleep gets noticeably deeper.
Week 2, hot flushes and night sweats often start to ease.
Week 3, your mood steadies.
Week 4, your energy feels like yours again.

This isn’t about never drinking again. It’s about giving your liver one less thing to manage, and actually feeling the difference.

Why not try Dry July, and see how you feel in 31 days.

What if “it’s just my skin” is actually what’s in your glass?

We hear it constantly - breakouts that won’t budge, redness that flares for no reason, a routine that keeps changing but never quite works.

But your skin doesn’t lie. It’s one of the last places your body tries to detox through, after your liver and gut.

Every time alcohol is in the mix, inflammation builds, and your skin is usually where it shows.

Here’s what actually changes when you take that pressure off for 31 days:
Days 1–3, your liver stops splitting its attention.
Week 1, hydration improves and your skin starts to show it.
Week 2, inflammation settles and breakouts often calm down. Week 3, redness and puffiness reduce.
Week 4, your skin starts to feel like yours again.

This isn’t about never drinking again. It’s about giving your skin one less thing to fight, and actually seeing the difference.

We talk a lot about hormones, gut health and inflammation...

But some of the most powerful healing tools we have aren’t clinical at all.

They’re the small, everyday habits we often overlook - the ones that help regulate your nervous system, lower inflammation, and support your body in ways we don’t always realise.

Simple doesn’t mean insignificant. In fact, it’s often the simple things we forget that make the biggest difference.

What would you add to this list? 💫

Hair density changes are rarely random.

For many women, they’re one of the earliest signs that something deeper is happening beneath the surface.

My own hair thinning led to a Hashimoto’s diagnosis. That experience reinforced what we see in clinic every day: it’s worth investigating, not dismissing.

If your hair is thinning, widening at the part, or shedding more than usual, don’t settle for “it’s just stress” or “it’s just age.”

The right testing can change everything, and we can help you find the right answers.

Not all salmon is created equal, but choosing the right type can be very nutritionally beneficial 🍣

The difference isn’t just the price tag. It’s what the fish has been eating.

Wild caught salmon gets its deep pink-orange colour naturally from a compound called astaxanthin, found in krill and small fish. It’s also typically higher in omega-3s and less likely to have been exposed to antibiotics or artificial colourings.

Farmed salmon is often fed a grain-based diet, which can mean lower omega-3 levels. Some varieties are also given added pigments to achieve that familiar salmon colour.

That doesn’t mean all farmed salmon is “bad.” The quality varies significantly depending on how and where it’s raised.

As a nutritionist, I generally recommend choosing wild caught when it’s available, particularly if you’re eating salmon for its omega-3 benefits.

A few simple tips:
• Atlantic salmon is almost always farmed.
• Frozen wild caught salmon is often one of the best value options.

Next time you’re buying salmon, take a look at the colour, check the label, or ask your fishmonger.
