Link in bio for the first run of the paperback version of my book!!

It’s taken a lot of hard work, much grief, so many tears, mistakes and a whole lot of fear and hesitation to get here! All of it done while holding my children through the greatest transition of our lives.

Just a gentle dose of decolonisation for your afternoon! And a reminder that this is 100% relevant because if we completely lose these wisdom held in our bloodlines…

we will completely lose these wisdom held in our bloodlines.

It’s that simple! 🌿

And it’s that urgent 🚨

Just comment MEMOIR to read my story! My book is available for instant download and I’d love to know how it lands for you! Every $ raised from any work I do directly supports the revival and restoration of my indigenous birthing traditions from the Maldives 🇲🇻

And I’ve been told it’s a pretty good read! 😆

After birth, there’s a moment no one warns you about.

It’s the moment the house is quiet again.
The help leaves.
The adrenaline fades.
And you’re left with a body that feels open, raw, and unfamiliar.

This is where postpartum care should begin—but in modern culture, it usually stops.

The truth is: your body is still asking for closure.
For warmth.
For containment.
For hands that give, not take.

This is why I offer in-home postpartum care.

I only have 3 spots per week for this work, because it’s meant to be slow, sacred, and personal.

If you’re ready to be mothered for a moment, DM me for availability as these spots will fill fast! 🌿

I always thought that Poor Woman’s Gold was the perfect name for this recipe. That’s what drew me to cooking it, when I saw it in my Ayurdoula cookbook during my training.

This dish reminds us to stay grounded in simplicity. True wealth is found here, the moment the dish meets our senses.

That’s the gold.

This is one of the recipes woven into Postpartum is Forever: A Memoir in Recipes, Rituals and Remembering.

Cooking has always saved my soul.

So grateful to all my teachers for their wisdom in abundance!

This is the only way to make sense of my story, through lived experience. This is how our ancestors passed down their knowledge - story telling, sitting around the hearth fire, being immersed in the lives that came before us.

Maybe some will read my book and say I am making it up. I have just told the story as I lived it, because there’s really no other way to talk about things like grief and how my grandmother became my spirit midwife and how the ancestral force of my father saved me from being lost in a relationship that was slowly destroying me and my children.

If this is the last thing I do, I will be happy. Because I have told my story.

🕯 Nobody told us what postpartum actually is.

It’s not just “healing.”
It’s not just “getting back to yourself.”

It’s sacred repair.

👉 Birth doesn’t just open your womb —
It opens your nervous system.
It opens your tissues.
It opens your energy body.
It opens your ancestors.

And if you stay open too long?
👉 Depletion creeps in quietly:
• Anxiety that doesn’t make sense
• Digestive issues that won’t resolve
• Fatigue that lingers for years
• Disconnection from your own body

This is why traditional postpartum care exists.

Not for vanity.
Not to “pamper” you.
But to close the portals.

Belly binding isn’t aesthetic — it’s structural.
Warm oil massage isn’t luxury — it’s nervous system regulation.
Ritual closings aren’t spiritual fluff — they call your life force back.

💔 And this is exactly what most mothers are never given.
We’ve normalized depletion.
But depletion is not destiny.

👉 This is why I do this work.

Because postpartum is forever.
And healing is still possible…
