Thank you to everyone who attended the exhibition opening of "Where The Light Falls", celebrating months of dedication by the artists and organisers.

Visibility is what "Where The Light Falls" is about. We all have things we want seen and things we keep in shadow. Art is one of the few places where that negotiation happens on the artist’s own terms.
Who is given the spotlight, and whose work reaches gallery walls, reflects the decisions, structures, and biases of institutions that have long left many artists in the shadows. But step inside the work itself, and the dynamic shifts. There, the artist controls what they want the audience to see, what the eye is drawn to, and where the light falls.
The opening featured an introduction by project coordinator Shannaka Houghton, acknowledgements from Phamily Family director Matthew Pham, an artist talk by Flaire Alfrey, and a screening of the short film "Contrasts" by Mikhael Crossfield. Attendees also had the chance to engage with all four featured artists.
"Where The Light Falls" is presented by Phamily Family Home Care Services in partnership with The City of Adelaide, as part of the SALA Festival. It will be on display until September 23rd.
