I’ve been an art educator for over 20 years and I love facilitating art sessions.

But it was when I began to learn creative therapies and facilitate creative well-being sessions that I really learnt the deeper capacity for creativity to support well-being.

That’s why I designed Creative Hearts, a program to support young people in their well-being through creativity.

There are many challenges that young people face and I think it’s so important to equip them with tools to respond to their emotional world.

The inability to be emotionally responsive in a biologically safe, socially cohesive and individually supportive way shows up in many different behaviours in young people.

My program embeds well-being into creative activities so that it feels subtle, fun and supportive, yet very impactful.

They create a quality artwork in the session, with guidance by me. They engage in creative well-being activities aimed to boost their confidence, support regulation and equip them with an emotional language.

If you’d like to find out more the link to Glow Studio is in my bio on Instagram and in the connected on Facebook.

Creative Hearts is a program for school aged children and this includes teens.

Young people are encouraged to work on a project where they can express their unique creativity with guidance from me, Sally.

This means they may all create something different, if they choose to.

I provide some structured suggestions for those who want to follow a process or experiment with a theme.

For those who wish to create from their own heart, I offer guidance if they request or need it.

The creative well-being games and activities are suitable for all ages.

I love mixed aged group settings, they allow for a village like feel where we all learn from and be inspired by each other.

My experience is that when young people of different age groups come together with a shared interest, there are greater opportunities for personal and creative growth beyond what occurs in same age settings.

The main requirement for participation in Creative Hearts is a desire to work on a creative project in a calm space.

If you are not sure if this program is for your young person, feel welcome to message, email or ring me.

Have you ever heard the term holistic therapist and wondered, what does that mean?

I love this question, because it lets me explain the approach that has shaped my path to well-being and the paths of the people I work with.

A holistic perspective views the whole person, the spirit, the mind, and the body, and how they’re all interconnected. It’s grounded in wholeness and in the way different parts of our body communicate with each other.

In practice, I work with many different evidence-based modalities.

✨ Somatic psychotherapy techniques to support emotional healing, process trauma, alleviate stress and challenging internal experiences.

✨ EMDR to reprocess traumatic life experiences and shift habits.

✨ Neuroscience psycho-education to support brain health, strengthen regulation capacity, and work with and honour the body’s own wisdom.

✨ Hypnotherapy to strengthen neural pathways, create new ways of being and feeling, and process challenging life experiences.

✨ Creative therapies for self discovery, expression and expansion.

✨ Parts work to support integration of that different internal parts that may be conflicting or trying to survive or protect.

✨ Energy work to support energy flow, life force and deep relaxation.

I utilise non-verbal techniques for people who don’t have the words, and I also work with those who want to talk it through.

My aim is always to empower people so they can GLOW out in the world.

We have this incredible capacity to flourish beyond our life experiences and this is made possible when we work holistically.

I offer one on one sessions in person and online, as well as group sessions, workshops and presentations.

Feel welcome to be in touch.

Creative Hearts is more than art making, it is designed to strengthen your child’s well-being.

Now more than ever young people need to be in spaces that support them to feel regulated, connected, inspired and joyful.

I have spent over 20 years as an art educator across the world and have seen the power of creativity as a tool of self discovery, expression and collective empowerment.

When I studied Creative Therapies at university I was able to deepen my understanding of how creativity supports well-being.

I have intentionally embedded creative well-being activities into the workshops.

I’m really excited to be facilitating these workshops for children. It is the program I wished existed when I was a child.

I’ll be sharing more over the coming weeks. Please share with anyone you feel may benefit.
