As Speech Pathology Week 2026 draws to a close, we’re taking a moment to reflect on the theme for Day 6 — “Possibility to Participate.”

Communication is at the heart of participation in LIFE.

For many people living with communication disability, the right communication supports can be the bridge between being present and truly being included — having a voice, making choices, building relationships, learning, working, connecting with community and participating in the things that matter most.

In rural and regional communities, access to appropriate communication supports can be particularly important. Speech pathologists have the privilege of working alongside individuals, families, carers, educators and other professionals to find ways to make communication more accessible — wherever people live.

Speech Pathology Week provides a ‘concrete’ platform upon which we can stand and proudly declare the importance of communication, participation and inclusion, and the valued role of speech pathologists within our communities.

When communication creates possibility, participation becomes possible.

💬 Communication creates possibility.
🌱 Possibility creates participation.
🤝 Participation creates connection.

🔥 DOUBLE YOUR IMPACT FOR JEANS FOR GENES! 6th August 🔥

Every single day this August, I’m putting in the kilometers and jumping into the daily skipping challenge for Skipping for the Cause to support vital genetic research.

Here’s the big news: Thursday, Lowes is matching every donation dollar-for-dollar!

That means if you donate $10, it becomes $20. Donate $50, and it becomes $100 going directly toward research for children living with genetic conditions.

If you’ve been thinking about supporting the challenge.

📲 Click here to double your donation: https://fundraise.jeansforgenes.org.au/fundraisers/jasongalea

Thank you so much for backing me and supporting such an important cause! 👖💙

Did you know that 1 in 20 Aussie kids are born with a genetic disease or birth defect? When you break that down, that’s roughly one child in every single classroom across the country.

In my work as a counsellor, I spend my days alongside kids and young people, listening to their stories and helping them navigate life’s big challenges. Seeing what they carry—and witnessing their incredible resilience—is the heart of why I do what I do. Every child deserves the chance to grow up healthy, supported, and hopeful about their future.

That’s why this August, I’m stepping up for the Ks for Kids challenge. I’ll be clocking up the kilometres, but mostly I’m putting my legs to the test by aiming for 300 skips a day! Instead of the 100 skips. It’s all to raise vital funds for the Children’s Medical Research Institute, supporting scientists who are working around the clock to find cures and treatments for conditions that affect so many young lives.

Every single skip is for them. Your support—whether it's a small donation, a big cheer, or sharing my page—helps keep these labs running and gives these amazing kids the future they deserve.

Thank you so much for backing me!

Please support me! I’m taking on Ks for Kids this Jeans for Genes to raise funds for cures for the 6,000+ genetic diseases and other conditions affecting Aussie kids! Please make a donation to support my challenge today – thank you! 💙

Hey locals! It’s us again! 👋

As we head towards Term 3, we wanted to let everyone know that we have some rare Tuesday counselling availability opening up with Jason. These spots don’t come around often, so if you’ve been considering support for your child, teen, family, or yourself, now is a great time to register your interest.

If you would like to enquire or join the waitlist, please head over to Table Talk Therapy & Supports (www.tabletalktherapy.au) and complete the waitlist form. This helps us make sure we contact families fairly and efficiently as places become available.

Over the school holiday period, Jason will be taking some time away to recharge and will not be contactable by phone. If you reach out during this time, please know your enquiry is still important and we will make contact with you in some capacity when we return and work through enquiries as quickly as possible.

Thank you to all of our TTT families and community for continuing to trust us to walk alongside you — we’re excited to see what Term 3 brings 💙
