A post to celebrate and thank two incredible members of the NTAHC family.

After seven years of dedicated leadership, we farewell Genevieve Dally, whose passion, vision and commitment have helped shape NTAHC into what it is today.

We also extend our sincere thanks to Larz, our LGBTQIASB+ Counsellor and Psychotherapist, for the compassion, support and care provided to countless community members throughout their time with us.
Your contributions have made a lasting impact on our organisation and the communities we serve.

We are deeply grateful for everything you have given to NTAHC and wish you both every success, happiness and fulfilment in your new roles.

Introducing - LezMove - Youth Edition 🌈👟🍕

Walk, talk, and snack with other young qu**rs! This is a super casual, low-expectation hang. Wear whatever you’re comfortable in as we hit the Nightcliff foreshore track to move our bodies and enjoy the view.

📅 When: Tuesday 20 October
☕️ Where: Foreshore Cafe Nightcliff, out front ⏰ Time: Meet from 5.45pm, we take off at 6pm🚶 Distance: 3km walk (about 40 minutes)🎂
Ages: 16 to 21 (not strict though! 15 and keen? 22 and interested? Come along!)🏳️‍🌈
Who: He’s, She’s, the G**s and the They’s.
No, LezMove isn’t just for le***ans!🍕
After: Free pizza and fries at the Foreshore Cafe.

Feeling anxious? We get it, rocking up somewhere new is scary. Bring your bestie or an ally to soften the load, or shoot us a message and we’ll work out how to make you feel comfortable.

LezMove is a q***r community group that aims to connect people, whilst moving positively. We are super pumped to be teaming up with Ntach Darwin to bring this hang to you. Hope to see you there!

Location: Darwin, Northern Territory
Employment Type: Part Time 0.8 FTE - (30.4 hours)
Classification: Health Professional and Support Services Award 2020 Level 3
Position Context
We’re looking for a passionate and inclusive Counsellor to join our team and provide accessible, affirming counselling and wellbeing support to LGBTQIASB+ communities across the Northern Territory. You’ll provide individual counselling, group work, referrals, advocacy and resource development, supporting people with a range of low to moderate needs including mental health and wellbeing, trauma, gender affirmation, neurodivergence, disability and general healing and wellbeing. The role is delivered Territory-wide through face-to-face services in Darwin and telehealth, depending on client preference and location. We’re looking for someone with relevant counselling, psychology or social work qualifications and professional registration (or eligibility), strong trauma-informed practice skills, and a genuine commitment to LGBTQIASB+ inclusive practice.
Experience working with LGBTQIASB+ communities is highly valued, and lived experience is strongly encouraged.

💗💜💙 Yesterday was Bi+ Visibility Day (also known as Bisexual Pride Day), marking the culmination of Bi+ Awareness Week.

Today we're taking a moment to recognise and uplift our bi+ community. Bi+ Visibility Day reminds us of the importance of being seen, heard and accepted, and of creating communities where everyone feels welcome and supported.

We're proud to have contributed alongside partner organisations from across Australia to the development of the Bi+ HIV and S*xual Health Framework.

To our knowledge, this is the first framework of its kind in Australia, developed through an extensive co-design process with bi+ community leaders and informed by consultation with members and affiliate organisations nationwide.

The framework provides guidance to strengthen bi+ inclusion across the LGBTIQA+, sexual health and HIV sectors and supports better health outcomes and more inclusive services for bi+ people.
