This must be what they mean when they say “adding insult to injury”! 😅

Relocation day for our Dragon, and instead of a regal paddle to her new temporary digs, Ballarat weather dictated that she be wheeled around Lake Wendouree!

She kept her composure though, as the Goldens moved her around the lake, joined by the Pinks to settle her into her new temporary home. A collaboration of true team spirit. 💕💛

We will miss our WBRC shed space, which was so well suited to our Dragon Boating needs. It’s been a stressful and tense time finding somewhere to keep our Dragon, so a huge Gold Star ⭐ to the Ballarat Yacht Club for offering us a temporary port in this storm.

Not quite the journey we had planned, but she’s safely berthed and, most importantly, we can keep paddling!

Apologies for the delayed update—technical difficulties delayed my posts, but it gave me a chance to fully immerse myself in my first International Breast Cancer Paddlers Commission festival in France. 🇫🇷

Here are some photos capturing our festival experience—featuring our team representing South Africa in the opening ceremony boat parade, the moving Flowers on the Water ceremony, and many other memorable moments along the way. 🌸🚣‍♀️

Giving our Ballarat weather a run for its money this morning. “Easy!” Could that just be our Sweep having a bit of a laugh? It wasn’t easy, but it was worth it. Thanks to our videographer on the shore.

🌼💛 Daffodil Day is a reminder that hope grows stronger when we stand together. 💛🌼

As dragon boat paddlers, we know that every stroke is stronger when we paddle as one.
Our sisterhood is built on courage, resilience, friendship, and the unwavering support we give each other—both on and off the water.
Today, we honour everyone whose lives have been touched by cancer, celebrate those who continue to inspire us with their strength, and remember those who will always hold a special place in our hearts.
This Daffodil Day, let's wear yellow with pride, support vital cancer research, and continue paddling with hope for a future where fewer families are impacted by cancer.
Together, we are stronger. Together, we create hope. 💛🚣‍♀️🌼
