Archie The Playful Paws Therapy Dog

Archie The Playful Paws Therapy Dog Hello.... I'm Archie, a blue roan English Cocker Spaniel therapy dog. My full name is Bathgate Archie but everyone knows me as just Archie.

My favourite things I love are saying hello to everyone and everything.

I had a very busy time this morning visiting Bairnsdale Regional Health Service Hospital. First stop was to visit Jenny and send her off on her retirement with a cuddle and a box of chocolates. They looked really yummy but Dad Warren said chocolate IS really yummy for hoomans but VERY bad for doggos. We then visited departments all over the hospital and along the corridors. I even met a few hoomans who already knew my name because they had seen me around and in our local paper. I had the chance to hop up onto the beds of lots of patients to say hello. Hopefully this cheered up their days a little bit. I also popped in to say hello to Steph and Kelly who work in the Executive Unit and got to test out one of their chairs.
I am so pleased that Dad and I just managed to beat the rain on our walk home. Dad said we shouldn't grumble about the rain because all of the local farmers would be very happy to see it. And isn't it coming down now!!🌨🌨🌨.
Time to boot the pesky cats from prime spot near the heater and relax for the afternoon.

Till next time. Stay warm and dry.

I'm a bit upset this morning. I woke up with a tummy upset and Mum Sue told Dad it is best that I don't visit my friends at Maddocks Gardens Aged Care, Bairnsdale Regional Health Service today. I hope my friends and the staff are all well there and understand. I will rest up and be back fit next week.

Today was Therapy Dog Thursday at Playful Paws: Training & Wellness and Debbie from Distinctive Options Noweyung came to visit Lola and I. We were so pleased to see her happy face and thank Debbie so much for the yummy treat. If you are feeling like you need a cuddle don't hesitate to pop in at 10.00 each Thursday morning.
I am already excited about my next outing tomorrow when I will be visiting Maddocks Gardens Aged Care, Bairnsdale Regional Health Service in the morning and in the afternoon back to Bairnsdale Regional Health Service Hospital to check in on the Undergrad Nurses and Allied Health students.
Till then. Love Archie ooxx

Not every member of the team wears a stethoscope 🐾

One of the unique things about rural general practice is that many of our doctors also work at Bairnsdale Regional Health Service.

Alongside working in the clinic, BMG doctors help care for patients on the medical ward, coordinate treatment with the hospital team, and support patients and their families throughout their stay.

For Dr. James and the team, it was great to cross paths with Archie the therapy dog while he was completing his own hospital duties…and bringing a few extra smiles to those around him!

This morning Dad Warren and I visited all of my friends at Bairnsdale Regional Health Service Hospital. I was pleased to see everyone looking smiley and happy to see us. As usual I made a b-line to the Patient Information Services where the staff love me to show them my tricks I have learned at Playful Paws: Training & Wellness. They always have on hand a yummy treat for me. Next stop was to pop in and say hello to the staff in the Aboriginal Health Unit where I also receive lovely pats. I also visited Oncology and Dialysis, the Gibbs Building, Radiology, Staff Specialist Consulting Rooms and Surgical Admissions Unit. Then we trotted off to some of the wards. Along the way I was thinking what a great spot the corridors would be to show off my skate boarding skills but as there are always staff, patients and visitors about Dad said that may not be a good idea. The staff have enough to do without me adding to their workload. And I also haven't forgotten those people called politicians I spoke with the other week and will do everything I can to hold them to their promise of bringing help to the hospital. I just hope they understood tail wag language. I don't like that all of my friends there have to rush about so much with all of the work they have to do.
Till next time.

It's hard work being a Multi-Media Megastar (as Mum Sue says I am). Megs caught me catching a quick kip during my It's Tricky class last night at Playful Paws: Training & Wellness. In my defence, it has been a very busy few weeks.

This morning Dad Warren and I visited Bairnsdale Regional Health Service Hospital and met sooooo many people who saw us on the ABC News last week. Dad said I will soon be giving out Paws-augraphs🐾. I just hope I was able to help boost the prospects of gaining extra funds for the hospital and raise awareness at how hard all of the staff are working. I stopped for a photo with members of the Medical Team and Kate from the Communication Team.
Until next time.
