We have some exciting news! Folk Herbals is launched and we are looking for our new staff member.

Folk Herbals is Bellingen’s new local herbal dispensary. We’re seeking an experienced, qualified herbalist to take a senior role on our sales floor – someone who knows plants well, consults with confidence, and can run the dispensary’s day-to-day systems without close supervision. This is a part time position.

Foraging Turkey Bush has become a yearly pilgrimage for me and a way to connect to the land. When she flowers it helps to mark the movement of seasons.

When things are moving out of synch with the seasons it sends confusing signals to those whom are listening for the cues and can send animals to lands that are not ready to host them yet.

Place, time, movement and the growth of plants are all embedded into the same cloth.

We have turkey bush smidge sticks back on the website. As they are seasonal there are only a small amount of til next year.

EntheoBotanica has been quiet lately for a few reasons.

Firstly I deleted instagram off my phone with no regrets. I no longer compare my creations to the entire worlds and hence Im feeling very focused and clear, which has supported me in my big news below.

Which is that Secondly I have been birthing. I have been dreaming, writing, researching, expanding, growing and now labouring this new creation Earthside for 1 year and its finally ready.

Folk Herbals is an honest herbal dispensary rooted in tradition aimed at reaching a much wider audience than EntheoBotanica. We craft incredible medicines for supporting the modern life’s daily grind. I can’t wait to share our launch coming at ya soon!

Here's a snippet from my talk at Mardi Grass this year. The camera card got filled up too soon so I mostly only explored themes of Growing Up, with the medicine of Iboga being shared later.

Iboga is a medicine for times of Initiation. From my personal experiences with it, and especially with my time in Gabon using it during my Initiation ceremony - the themes this plant works with help people to grow up and become their adult selves.

At the current time we we live in, Gaia is facing a crude shake up of permanent change required. The carbon pulse is burning out, and so are we. No longer are the threats we face contained or even able to be tended to in simple manners. Aka economic issues are affecting environmental issues are affecting social welfare issues... etc. It's all leaking all over the place.

The growing up is now. Let's take the leap into the next phase of consciousness together - away from the hyper individuated ways of the recent past, and into an integrated transpersonal future. Where we act as a collective who cares about the relationships we are embedded in.

In our spare time we here at EntheoBotanica are obsessed with music. Both Elijah and myself are performing artists and song writers.

The realm is music is actually quite connected to the realm of plants.

In ceremonial settings the icaros (plant songs) are used for healing; sung unto the body and mind to bring the plant's medicine into the physical body, invoking plants as teachers and doctors. Once songs were traded as a currency. To know a plant song was to be deep in relation to that plant, and it was traded from healer to healer as a high value sort after 'thing' by healers.

The same creative lateral neural networking that taps Polyrhythmic beats, that is able to hold a space of flow and focus when dealing with matters of health, sickness and medicine. It is also the same left hemisphere listening that is able to hear the lyrics to a song travelling earth side, that hears the voice of Pacha Mamma in her soils, leaves, flower and roots. The song of the Earth, the song of the plants, and the song of sweet music are actually all the same one song, the one verse, the uni-verse.

Elijah Kindred is not only excellent at creating functional systems in our business, tending to orders, postage and pressing herbs - but he is a musician and sound scape artist. Recently he played a sound healing to a story telling of IRON JOHN at Alternatives Bookstore, Bellingen.
