The 2024 SSASH Survey is now open!

The Australian Survey of Secondary Students and S*xual Health (SSASH) is a national study exploring the s*xual health and well-being of Australian adolescents. The anonymous survey asks questions about knowledge, behaviour and educational experiences related to s*xual health and well-being. The Australian Government Department of Health and Aged Care has funded this survey approximately every 5 years since 1992.

They would love to hear from you if you are between 14 and 18 years old and live in Australia.

From morality lessons to medical facts, s*x ed in Australia has evolved, but has it kept up with what young people actually need? With schools deciding what (and how) to teach, many students are left with gaps in knowledge about consent, relationships, LGBTQ+ identities, and digital safety. Should s*x ed be standardized, or does flexibility better serve diverse communities? Let’s talk about it.

Today, I’m diving into a massive undertaking—breaking down the Australian curriculum to uncover exactly what’s required for comprehensive s*xual education from Prep to Year 12.

I’ll identify gaps, highlight what’s missing, and gather resources for parents to bring more clarity and transparency to this often misunderstood topic.

Because when parents know what’s being taught (and what’s not), they can have better, more informed conversations with their kids. Stay tuned—this is going to be big!

I’ll also be diving into the findings from the Australian Survey of Secondary Students and S*xual Health—a crucial look into the s*xual health and well-being of Aussie teens.

This anonymous survey explores what adolescents know, do, and experience about s*xual health education, uncovering gaps in knowledge and highlighting areas where young people want more information.

By weaving these insights into my project, I’ll be painting a clearer picture of what’s working, what’s missing, and how we can bridge the gaps to ensure young people get the education they need and deserve.

If you want to learn more, I've launched a Patreon for those who want exclusive content and deeper dives into s*xual health, relationships, and education.

Join me there for unfiltered, judgment-free education and the support you need to navigate these meaningful conversations!

A 12-year-old boy recently asked about the changes his body experiences during puberty. While he understood the physical transformations, his primary concern was whether what he was experiencing was normal. The key takeaway from this conversation wasn’t just the facts about physical development—it was the sense of reassurance. The relief was visible when this child realized that everything he was going through was a natural part of growing up....

One of the most common concerns parents express is: "How do I protect my child from being exposed to s*xual topics or concepts that I feel are inappropriate for their age?" While you can take steps to limit exposure through rules and monitoring, it’s nearly impossible to shield them completely. The real challenge lies in preparing for the moment when your child comes to you with a question....

Surgical options may be the next step when non-surgical treatments like stretching exercises or topical creams don’t relieve phimosis. These procedures are designed to address the underlying tightness of the fo****in, offering effective and often permanent solutions.

Surgery is generally recommended for high grades of phimosis, mainly Grades 4 & 5. These grades often cause significant symptoms such as pain, difficulty with urination, and recurrent infections. Non-surgical treatments are less likely to be effective at these stages.

When considering surgical options for treating phimosis, the first step is to evaluate your situation in consultation with a healthcare professional. Your doctor will assess the severity of your condition, its impact on your quality of life, and how much discomfort or inconvenience you’re willing to tolerate. Based on this, they can recommend the most suitable surgical procedure for your needs.
