🌿Big Sale On This Weekend!

Why? Because I bought an Iveco Daily Hi-Max 2022
at auction. It was sighted as hail damage.

My dream is to convert a van into a campervan. From photos it looked really good. No hail damage that I could see but it could be on the roof. So no problems, I can get that fixed. So I did the bid. First time…went over budget but that’s ok.

We had the van towed to home and organised an inspection to get a road worthy. Inspection Failed!

Why? Because I, Lee Doherty have bought a van which has a possible “fried engine” up-to $25,000 to replace.🤦🏼‍♀️

Hail Damage? I don’t think so.
Engine Damage? Absolute possibility.

Has my dream ended before it has begun?

Absolutely Not!

My misfortune now turns into your fortune!

This van is so, Gene and myself have a home-on-wheels to harvest Gumby Gumby. We can stay out bush for a few days at a time without having to pay for expensive accommodation.

🌿 Wishing you many beautiful blessings for the New Year.

It has been an exceptionally busy period with numerous significant events unfolding within our family. We are expecting new additions and facing unforeseen challenges that test our resolve.

I was fortunate enough to visit with family in Tasmania and experienced snow in December. On the way up to Kunyani I was blessed to see the Tasmanian Waratah. I named my 3rd child, Waratah. So I was delighted it was in flower. I always stop to drink from the continuously flowing mountain spring. Jumping out of the car to snap bushtucker and wild mountain flowers. Sitting at the summit it started to snow. I watched a young couple enjoy all seasons in half an hour. And delighted in their joy.

May love, laughter, and authenticity guide you in 2026.

🍃🍃🍃Friday Night Relax…time for wire burning my coolamon.

What does a coolamon mean to me?

🍃The Coolamon🍃

I hold this coolamon in my hands, and it holds me in return.
The grain remembers every fire, every rain. Each line across its skin tells of time, care, and the rhythm of the earth.
For countless generations, coolamons have carried what matters most — water, food, babies, and story. They were never only tools. They were extensions of women’s hands, of family, of Country itself.
A coolamon is both cradle and vessel. It protects new life, gathers harvest, and carries the weight of daily survival and ceremony. It speaks of nurture — the deep responsibility to hold and to give.
When the old people made these, they read the tree’s body first. They listened for consent, cut with respect, and left a gift behind. Every curve was shaped by relationship — between person, tree, and spirit.
Wire burning brings that story forward again. Each mark is an echo of language, a remembering. The smell of smoke and resin connects me back to those who made with patience, who knew the power of what they were creating.
A coolamon is a reminder that culture is lived through the hands.
It teaches balance — to carry, to offer, to let go.
It teaches care — for the land that gives, and for the lives we hold.
So as I burn these lines, I think of the women who came before me — their strength, their laughter, their silence.
The coolamon becomes more than wood. It becomes a conversation between generations.
It carries memory, and I am part of its journey now.

🌿 AIDA 2025 Conference

I’m honoured to share that I’ll be presenting at the AIDA 2025 Conference alongside my daughter Dr Ngaree Blow and my husband Gene Blow.

This year’s theme, “Evoking Sovereignty, Honouring Country, Nurturing Community,” deeply reflects our shared journey — walking between traditional knowledge, healing, and modern practice.

We’ll be sharing the story of Gumby Gumby, its connection to Country, and how cultural knowledge continues to guide our work in health and healing.
The AIDA 2025 Conference will be held on Gadigal Country at ICC Sydney, from 27 – 29 November 2025.

🌿 Gumby Gumby: From Country to Case Study

I’m honoured to share that Bushfoods with Benefits and my Gumby Gumby work have been selected by CSIRO for inclusion in their upcoming Indigenous Cultural and Intellectual Property (ICIP) Implementation Guide.

This Guide is being developed by Terri Janke & Company (TJC) — Australia’s oldest and largest Indigenous-owned law and consulting firm — to guide CSIRO staff in best practice when working with ICIP.

Gumby Gumby has always been more than a plant — it carries stories, healing, and connection to Country.

Seeing it recognised as a national case study supporting cultural respect and integrity in research is deeply meaningful.

I’m grateful to Dr Terri Janke for continuing to include my story in True Tracks® training, and to CSIRO for embedding Indigenous knowledge and voices in their work.
