At Xavier, we have been providing disability support to Brisbane children and families for over 70 years. Our range of multi-disciplinary services are designed to help children and young people with high needs to live the best lives possible with their family. From occupational therapy and equipment hire, physio and speech therapy through to support workers, nursing, respite and NDIS support, we're here to help.

🎹 A morning jam at Xavier Place! 🎶

Riley was on the keyboard and Keira joined in on the bells during a shared session with Music Therapist Becca this morning.

Through improvisation, Riley and Keira brought their own sounds and creativity to the music they made together. With no set tune to follow, they were free to explore, experiment and contribute in their own way.

That's the beauty of music therapy. Creating opportunities for connection, self-expression and having fun together! 💙

Mates Joel and Riley happily took on certificate collection duties at Indooroopilly. And with burgers on the menu, they weren’t heading home just yet! 🍔😄

Learning about school through play 🏫

If your little one is starting big school in January, talking and playing together can help them become more familiar with what to expect.

The Queensland Government's free starting school game includes 34 picture cards families can use to play Bingo, Snap, Memory and Go Fish.

As the first week of term draws to a close, we’re taking a look back at all the school holiday fun we had at Xavier Place. 💙

Our days were filled with sunshine, gardening, shared meals and karaoke, giving our children and young people plenty of ways to spend time together. We enjoyed communication sessions and group outings, with time to relax in between.

At Xavier Place, children and young people can enjoy activities, connect with others and explore their interests, with support tailored to their needs.

Getting out and about in the community looks different for everyone. For Jaden, it often means enjoying some time outdoors with his Support Worker, Oli. 💙

Jaden and Oli make a pretty great team, with Jaden’s choices and interests shaping how they spend their time together.

And not even an unexpected visitor crossing the path could stop them! 🐍😳

At Xavier, our Support Workers help children and young people take part in their communities and spend time doing what they enjoy, with support tailored to them.

Ahoy from Xavier Place! 🏴‍☠️💙

Inspired by a pirate-themed day at her school, Maddie decided to bring the fun to Xavier Place for a day of pirate adventures!

The crew got into the spirit, writing sea shanties, painting pirate hats, reading a pirate play and celebrating student music therapist Kaia’s arrr-some birthday! 🎂

Maddie even curated the playlist for a pirate-themed dance party! 🎶

We love seeing the ideas and interests of our children and young people inspire fun, creativity and connection at Xavier Place. 💙

The Xavier allied health team recently attended the Family Fun Afternoon at St Joseph’s OSHC in North Ipswich. We enjoyed the opportunity to connect with families and the St Joseph’s team, including new Coordinator Ally. 💙

It was a wonderful afternoon, and a chance to share how Xavier and Catholic Early EdCare work together to help children and families access the right support when they need it.
