When Maddie brought in a play she had written, she headed straight for the dress-up box and began assigning costumes to the cast!

Before long, Jess along with the Xavier Place team were dressed for their roles, as Maddie brought her production to life. A wonderful way to spend a Friday with lots of laughter ✨

A great day out for Joel and Riley 🌞

The pair headed to South Bank after catching the train from Xavier Place together. Joel was out and about with his Support Worker and Riley was staying with us at Xavier Place, so they teamed up for the adventure.

💡Small changes can make a big difference.

We’re pleased to share this free online forum from Queenslanders with Disability Network (QDN), supporting people with disability to better understand minor home modifications in private rentals and how practical changes can support greater independence, safety and dignity.

This National Volunteer Week, we’re celebrating those who bring so much kindness, connection and joy to our community 💙

At Xavier Place, Matthew, a student at the The University of Queensland, spends time with our guests and has become a great companion of young men Joel and Oscar.

We’re also so grateful for Brad from the Delta Therapy team, owner of much-loved Chester 🐾 Together they brought comfort, calm and happiness to so many young people at Xavier Place, creating memories that continue to mean a lot to our community.

Thank you to all our volunteers for the difference you make every day.

At Xavier Place, we know that keeping regular routines in place helps children and young people feel comfortable, confident and supported during their stay with us 💜

Alongside the fun, outings and activities, our team also makes sure the everyday routines continue too. During a recent stay, Registered Nurse Gurpreet helped Cailin get ready for school, while Charlie stepped in to braid her hair.

🏃Include movement or play before starting focused tasks
💡Guide one step at a time, letting your child do as much as they can independently
