June FND Peer Support Group đ
Weâre excited to share that our June Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) Peer Support Group will now be hosted at Spinal Life Australia
FND is one of the fastest growing diagnosed neurological conditions. Many neurologists now recognising it as one of the most common conditions seen in neurology clinics alongside epilepsy and Parkinsonâs disease.
So what is FND?
Functional Neurological Disorder is a condition that affects how the brain and body communicate. People with FND can experience very real neurological symptoms such as weakness, tremors, seizures, pain, fatigue, cognitive difficulties, dizziness, sensory changes and problems with movement or speech â often without structural damage to the nervous system being found on scans.
FND can affect people of all ages and backgrounds, and symptoms can range from mild to life-changing.
Our peer support group is a safe, welcoming space to connect with others who understand the challenges of living with FND. Whether youâre newly diagnosed or have been navigating FND for years, you are welcome.
