You don’t need to have a pelvic floor problem to talk to a pelvic health physio.

At the One Fine Baby Advice Hub, we’re here for the questions that often sit somewhere between Google, your antenatal appointments and “I’m not sure if this is normal.”

Ask us about:

* exercise during pregnancy
* pelvic pain, leaking, heaviness or bowel changes
* preparing for birth
* pelvic floor relaxation and recovery
* returning to running, gym or sport after baby
* what pelvic health support might actually be useful for you

No examination. No pressure. Just a short, practical conversation to help you understand your body and what your next step might be.

Ask before baby. Because pelvic health care isn’t only for when something goes wrong.

Out of the clinic 💚💚💚

We recently swapped our usual clinic day for something a little special, a self-defense session! 🫯

It was a great chance for the team to get together outside of the clinic, learn some practical skills, and try something completely different outside of our usual skillset!

A good reminder that there is more to what happens in the consult rooms.

Special thankyou to Progressive Martial Arts for having us!

Would you or have you done a self-defense class? 💡

It’s not really about me.

Although technically… I’ve been named a finalist for Physiotherapist of the Year at the Allied Health Awards. 😄

What I’m most proud of is what sits behind it: Pelviology, our team, and the bigger conversation we’re helping build around pelvic health. Also, clinic of the year! ✨🌟⭐️

We genuinely love what we do. We love making pelvic health easier to talk about, easier to understand and easier to get help for.

So yes, I’m very proud to be a finalist.

But I’m even prouder of the clinic we’ve built, the people I get to work alongside, and seeing pelvic health getting a bigger seat at the table.

That’s the bit worth celebrating. 💛

Support in pregnancy should feel empowering, practical and normal—not something you only seek when things become difficult.

Pregnancy can affect how you think, feel, eat, sleep, cope and prepare for what comes next. These changes are common, but they can still feel unfamiliar or overwhelming without the right support.

Our Mind & Body Pregnancy Webinar brings together psychology, dietetics and pelvic health to help you understand the connections between emotional wellbeing, nourishment, physical recovery and the transition to parenthood.

We’ll explore:

• how psychological support can build confidence and coping skills during pregnancy
• practical strategies for managing uncertainty, emotional load and changing identity
• how nutrition can support energy, recovery and wellbeing
• when additional support may be helpful—and where to begin
• how a connected care team can support you through pregnancy and beyond

Psychology is not a stigma. Nutrition is not about perfection. Reaching out for support is not a sign that something is wrong—it is one way to feel more informed, prepared and supported.

Join us for a practical and reassuring conversation designed to help you move through pregnancy with greater understanding and confidence.

Pelviology in the community.

One of the greatest privileges of our work is stepping beyond the clinic to speak with our community.

This week, Alex had the opportunity to present at Tattersalls Club Brisbane and explore one simple but powerful idea:

We often confuse common with normal.

Many pelvic health conditions are common.

Bladder leakage.

Pelvic pain.

Pain with intimacy.

Bowel symptoms.

Changes after pregnancy, surgery or menopause.

But common simply describes how many people experience something.

It doesn’t tell us whether it’s healthy.

It doesn’t tell us whether treatment exists.

And it certainly doesn’t mean people should simply accept it. 🙊

Changing pelvic health begins long before someone walks through our clinic doors.

It begins by asking better questions.

By challenging expectations.

By replacing myths with understanding.

Thank you to Tattersall's Club for creating space for these conversations—and to everyone who contributed so thoughtfully throughout the afternoon.

Because every conversation changes someone’s expectation.

A condition can be common…

without being inevitable.

It can be common…

without being something people should simply accept. Your health should not be your limitation.

Understanding that difference is often the beginning of better health.

This was the message I hoped people would remember as we chatted all things pelvic health - even a few soap box moments for shouting for women’s research!! 🧐

Common is a statistic.

Normal is an expectation.

Too often, expectations are quietly passed from one generation to the next.

“It’s just because you had children.”

“It’s part of getting older.”

“Everyone leaks.”

Many pelvic health conditions are common.

That doesn’t mean they’re something we simply have to live with.

🫳🏻🎤

Thank you to Tattersalls Club for the invitation, and to everyone who shared questions, experiences and curiosity. What should we talk about next??? 📣
