We've had such an amazing response, and we're looking forward to a day of learning, sharing experiences, connecting with others and exploring practical, neuro-affirming strategies to better understand the person behind the behaviour.

🏳️‍🌈The Autism Abilities team recently enjoyed an amazing Thursday evening at Drag Bingo at !

It was a great opportunity for the team to meet up outside of work, have a good laugh, and ... do the Nutbush? Needless to say, the night took some unexpected turns.💃

Above all else, it was also a much-needed reminder that moments like these are what makes our team bonds stronger. Thanks again to Holmes Hall for hosting us, and thanks to everyone in the team for joining in on the fun! 💕

🌱Consultation Stage 2 for Brimbank City Council's Disability Access and Inclusion Plan 2027–2029 has begun!

This plan will help shape the lived experiences of both individuals living with disability and carers. If you or a loved one would like to share your insight to help inform the plan, please make sure to do so before Wednesday, October 7. 🌟

We've created a draft Disability Access and Inclusion Plan and we want to know what you think.

The plan outlines our commitment to creating an inclusive Brimbank where people with disability feel valued and safe, and diversity is respected and celebrated.

The draft has been shaped through extensive consultation with the Brimbank community.

🥗🍛Last week we celebrated cultural diversity in our team by holding an office potluck!🍱🍰

Sharing food from different cultures and backgrounds fosters a sense of belonging and strengthens the bonds that make our team thrive.

Thank you so much to everyone who took time out of their day to bring something in for the whole group to eat. One thing for sure is that every single person left the clinic that day with a full stomach (and heart!) 💕

The 2026 National Autism Parent & Caregiver Survey is now open‼️

If you're an Australian parent or primary caregiver to an autistic child, young person or adult, please consider taking 30 minutes out of your day to complete this anonymous survey from Autism Australia.

By simply sharing your experiences, your answers will help inform autism policy, support, and service provision. ✅

The sleepless nights, the paperwork, the juggle of services and supports - we see you. And it's time the rest of Australia did too. We’ve partnered with CliniKids, part of The Kids Research Institute Australia, and the The University of Western Australia for the 2026 National Autism Parent and Caregiver Survey.

If you're an Australian parent or primary caregiver (18+) of an autistic child, young person or adult, please take the time to have your say — around 30 minutes, completely anonymous.

The survey closes at 11:59pm on Monday 5th October. Your answers will be used to inform policy, supports and service design, with findings published in January 2027.
