The Sorry Day Flower Project continues to bloom across our schools and communities, creating opportunities for truth-telling, learning and connection long after National Sorry Day has passed.

Recently, we had the privilege of visiting Bunbury Senior High School to share the story behind the project and the significance of the Stolen Generations. Through conversations, reflection and flower-making,students for supporting this work and creating space for these important conversations.

We are incredibly grateful to the Asharie Bradshaw, Rosemary Fisher Jones and the school leaders who continue to champion truth-telling and reconciliation in their classrooms.

Congratulations to Lesley Ugle on her appointment to the Board of South West Aboriginal Medical Service. ❤️🖤💛

We look forward to supporting Lesley and the entire SWAMS Board as they continue the important work of improving health and wellbeing outcomes for our people across the South West.

Congratulations Lesley — we know you will be a strong voice for community. 🌿

Lesley Ugle is the latest SWAMS Board member we would like to introduce following our Annual General Meeting in April.

Lesley is a proud Aboriginal woman, born and raised in Harvey, where she continues to live today. A fourth-generation member of the Wallam and Little families, Lesley is a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, with strong ties to community and family.

Lesley’s passion for supporting others began early in life and has shaped her ongoing commitment to community wellbeing. She has worked to build strong relationships within the Aboriginal community, connecting people with health services and support groups, and helping to reduce barriers to access.

She understands the importance of a holistic approach to care, and brings a compassionate, non-judgmental perspective to supporting individuals and families. Her work is grounded in empathy, respect, and a deep understanding of community needs.

Lesley remains actively involved in local initiatives, including the Shire of Harvey Reconciliation Committee, the Harvey Local Drug Action Group (LDAG), and Harvey Radio. She values sharing knowledge, listening to different perspectives, and contributing to decision-making processes that strengthen community outcomes.

We look forward to introducing you to our other board members in the coming weeks.
