✨ Day 7 of my September skipping challenge! ✨

One thing I’ve learnt (and constantly remind my clients)… the body adapts SO quickly when we give it a consistent challenges.

I committed to jumping every day in September, starting small with just 4 minutes of skipping a day. Already after 7 days. it’s feeling soooo much easier! 🙌

Skipping is such an underrated exercise for women 40+ because it’s not just about fitness…

❤️ It gets the heart pumping and improves cardiovascular health
🦴 The impact helps stimulate our bones (important as we age and focus on maintaining bone density)
💪 It builds coordination, strength and confidence
🔥 And it’s a simple, travel-friendly workout you can do almost anywhere!

Week 1 = 4 minutes a day ✅
Week 2 = increasing to 8 minutes a day 🎯

I’m excited to see what 30 days of consistency does! Not because I expect a miracle overnight…but because small daily actions compound into BIG changes. ❤️

Who else wants to challenge themselves to add a little more movement this month? There's no reason you can't start today!👇

I filmed some band alternatives for one of my clients this morning who’s travelling and doesn’t have access to her usual dumbbells, but that doesn't mean training has to stop! 🙌

And then I thought… why not share them with you too?

If you’re travelling, training at home, or simply don’t have access to weights, I’ve filmed a few really handy ways to substitute dumbbell exercises using just a resistance band.

Want the full videos?

Comment BANDS below and I’ll send them to you via DM. 👇

Free. No catch. Just some handy moves to add to your toolbox. 😊

Funny how, as we get older, we realise how much we thought we knew. 😂

In my teens & 20s, I was convinced I knew more than my mum.

In my early 40s, I was confidently telling women: “Being fit in your 40s is easy!”

And you know what?

For me, at that stage…it actually was. But here’s the part I didn’t fully appreciate…

I wasn’t the average woman. I was a Personal Trainer. I was on my feet 5+ hours a day. I was teaching HIIT classes multiple times a week. I was lifting heavy. I was moving constantly.

I also hadn’t yet experienced the full transition into peri-menopause.

Then my late 40s arrived… And life changed.
- More stress.
- Injuries.
- Surgery.
- Medications.
- Stepping away from group fitness.
- A huge drop in daily movement.
- Hormonal changes....

And suddenly, the things I had always relied on didn’t feel quite so effortless anymore.

The result? Around 8kg crept on over 12 months.

Not because I forgot what to do. Not because I stopped caring. But because life changed… and my body changed with it.

And honestly? That experience has made me a better coach.

Because now I’m not just teaching women what I’ve learned from books or qualifications. I’m living the process alongside them.

So it’s time to get back on the train. Back to the basics that work:

✨ Daily movement
✨ Strength training
✨ Prioritising nourishing food
✨ Recovery
✨ Sleep
✨ Sunshine
✨ Hydration

No extreme fixes. No punishment. No pretending your body at 48 should respond exactly like it did at 28.

Just rebuilding.

Using the tools I’ve spent the past 8 years learning - and applying them to myself again.

Want to come along for the journey as I rebuild my strength, fitness and confidence?

Because if I can do it… so can the women I coach. 💚

🌅 Health & fitness tip #2: Jumpstart your day!

Want the quickest way to greet the morning with a little more energy and vitality?

Jump! 🤸‍♀️ Remember jumping rope as a kid?

A skipping rope is one of the easiest pieces of fitness equipment you can own:
✅ Cheap to buy
✅ Takes up almost no space
✅ Easy to pack and travel with
✅ Can be used almost anywhere

And you don’t need to start with 20 minutes! Start with just 2 minutes a day.

Small bursts of movement can still create big changes.

How to start:
1️⃣ Stand tall with your feet together, gently bouncing on the balls of your feet.

2️⃣ Keep your jumps small (just enough to clear the rope), land softly, and let your wrists do the work, not your whole arms.

Benefits of skipping:
💪 Builds strength and coordination: especially through your calves, ankles, core and shoulders while improving balance and body control.

❤️ Gives your cardiovascular system a tune-up - helping improve fitness, energy and endurance.

AND... it’s FUN! Sometimes the best exercise is the one that makes you smile while you do it. 🥰

Who remembers skipping as a kid? 👇

“Hey! I’ve started on 28kg deadlifts and 20.5kg squats using the bar. My squat form is SO much better!

Oh… and I’m down 10kg since I started with you 🎊

Lean, mean fighting machine 😘🤣”

THIS message made me smile so hard.

Yes… the 10kg is amazing. But what I’m most proud of isn’t the number on the scales. It’s everything that happened before that number.

This didn’t happen in 8 weeks.

It happened over 2 YEARS.

50+ female on HRT & minor injuries.

Two years of:
✅ 2-3 consistent strength training sessions a week
✅ learning how to lift properly
✅ improving strength and confidence
✅ watching her daily movement
✅ consistently tracking her nutrition
✅ showing up even when life wasn’t perfect

She didn’t just “lose 10kg”.

She built the habits, strength and knowledge to become someone who can maintain that result without me 👏👏

And this is the part people often don’t want to hear…

There is no magic timeframe where your body suddenly changes and your work is done. Because while 2 years might feel like a long time…

2 years is going to pass anyway.

The question is: Will you be in the same place you are today?

Or will you look back and say… “Wow. Look what I built.” 💪

Slow progress is still progress. The goal should never be just to "lose weight".

The goal is to become stronger, healthier and more confident for the long term. 💚

Movement doesn't always have to look like a workout. 💃✨

Sometimes it's lifting weights. Sometimes walking. Sometimes it's stretching. Sometimes...

It's just putting on music and letting your body move.

Dance is movement.
Movement is medicine.
And moving your body should be something you enjoy, not something you punish yourself with.

I can't wait to bring Move & Flow to women around Qld next week.

We'll be dancing, moving, stretching, laughing and remembering that our bodies are capable of so much more than we sometimes give them credit for. 💚

Come move with me! 💃

Had 2 boiled eggs to use up in the fridge for lunch, and accidentally made a DELISH little egg salad! 😋

🥚 2 boiled eggs, roughly chopped
🥄 2 heaped forkfuls cottage cheese
🥬 Spoon of sauerkraut
🌿 Dried parsley

Mix. Eat. Done. 🙌

Rough comparison:
👉 My version: 210 cals | 20g protein

👉 Whole-egg mayo version: 355 cals | 13g protein

Around 150 calories less AND more protein… and honestly, I reckon the sauerkraut makes it better! 🤣

Healthy food doesn't need to be complicated… or boring.
