Many of you know our support worker Nick, and we wanted to share a little of what his family has been navigating. Nicks daughter Milly is autistic and a Type 1 diabetic.
Last October, she experienced a 70 minute seizure that led to a ride in a LifeFlight helicopter, a stay in the QCH PICU, and later a diagnosis of epilepsy. She’s been so incredibly brave through every step since.
This week she had an EEG at QCH to check how she’s responding to her medication, and she handled it like a champion.
Thank you for your understanding while Nick has been taking time to be with his family 🌸 your support means more than you know.

✨ Meet the Team: Jakob ✨

🌿 Support Worker
🌿 Advocacy Champion
🌿 Practical Support All‑Rounder
🌿 Limited availability

Jakob is one of our go‑to people when things get complicated. He’s exceptional at navigating medical appointments, NDIS meetings, and the tricky world of housing issues - always advocating strongly for the rights and needs of the people he supports. His calm, organised approach makes him a standout in high‑pressure situations, and families consistently appreciate how thoroughly he keeps on top of the details.

Alongside his support work, Jakob brings a professional cleaning background and is available for both domestic cleaning and yard maintenance. He takes pride in doing a job well, whether he’s supporting someone through a complex appointment or helping them feel more comfortable and in control at home.

Jakob has experience supporting participants with PTSD, medically complex conditions, schizophrenia, intellectual disability, autism, ADHD, and a wide range of other needs.

He has also co‑facilitated groups with fellow support worker Kassidy, bringing a collaborative and creative energy to group‑based supports.
One of Jakob’s favourite parts of the job is helping participants learn new skills they’re excited about - whether that’s skateboarding, playing guitar, or exploring a new hobby. He meets people where they’re at and supports them to grow in ways that feel meaningful and achievable.

Outside of work, Jakob enjoys music, fishing, and camping. Anything that lets him unwind, get outdoors, and recharge.

Jakob’s mix of advocacy, practical skill, and genuine care makes him an invaluable member of the team.

Kassidy brings a wonderfully diverse background to the team, with experience in disability support and professional cleaning — a combination our participants appreciate more than she realises. She supports a wide range of needs, including autism, ADHD, anxiety, and more, and she has a natural ability to help people gently expand their window of tolerance. Kassidy works at the pace of her participants, encouraging growth without pressure and creating a safe, steady environment for trying new things.

Growing up in the bush shaped her love for the outdoors, and she brings that energy into her work. Kassidy has previously facilitated both community‑based and centre‑based groups, including outdoor exploration groups, drama sessions, art and craft activities, and a variety of creative programs that help participants build confidence and connection.

She provides exceptional domestic assistance and takes real pride in helping people feel comfortable and supported in their homes. ✨ Meet the Team: Selina ✨

🌿 Support Worker
🌿 Family Support Specialist
🌿 Coordination Queen
🌿 Current Availability

Selina is one of those rare support workers who brings equal parts heart, skill, and organisation to every person she supports. With a background in childcare - particularly working with autistic children - she has a deep understanding of neurodivergent needs and a natural ability to connect with kids and adults alike.

She’s a fierce advocate for her clients and an absolute powerhouse when it comes to managing complex information. For individuals who juggle multiple medical appointments, specialists, and reports, Selina is the calm in the storm. She excels at coordinating stakeholders, keeping everyone informed, and ensuring nothing slips through the cracks.

Selina has supported autistic individuals, people with vision impairment, mood disorders, PDA, ADHD, intellectual disability, OCD, stroke, and a wide range of other support needs. Her adaptability is one of her greatest strengths. She meets people exactly where they are and works with them in a way that feels safe, respectful, and empowering.

Outside of work, Selina loves getting out and about with her family. Whether it’s a fishing trip, a beach day, or anything fun and outdoorsy, she’s all in. She’s also the proud mum of three children and one very large, very loveable “dog” named Gus… who just happens to be a horse 🤭

Selina’s books are usually full, but she’s opening up space for new clients 🥳
A rare opportunity to work with someone truly exceptional.

✨ Meet the Team: Jasmine ✨

🌿 Support Worker
🌿 Lived Experience Specialist
🌿 Future Disability Advocate
🌿 Current availability

Jasmine brings a powerhouse mix of lived experience, professional training, and genuine heart to the team. As a mum to three, two being autistic children, one also living with type 1 diabetes and epilepsy - she’s deeply familiar with complex care, emergency responses, and the emotional landscape of supporting neurodivergent kids.

She’s trained in administering midazolam, managing hypoglycaemic episodes, and supporting alternative communication styles like PECS.

She holds a Certificate III in Individual Support and is well on her way through a Bachelor of Laws, with a five‑year plan to step into disability advocacy.

Before support work, Jasmine spent years as a veterinary nurse, and while compassion fatigue eventually nudged her toward a new path, her love for animals never left (evidenced below 😜).

Jasmine is also autistic, bringing an authentic, insider understanding of neurodivergence. She has supported people with autism, bipolar disorder, Down syndrome, intellectual disability, physical disability, diabetes, and epilepsy — always with empathy, humour, and a calm, grounded presence.

When she’s not working, you’ll find her exploring the community with her family or friends, swimming, travelling, tending to her million pets or happily info‑dumping about law, politics, or whatever article has captured her hyperfocus that week. She thrives on deep conversations, shared passions, and creating safe, empowering spaces for the people she supports.

🌟 Your Support Worker, Your Choice 🌟

At NTC, we don’t send random workers to your door. We know how stressful and uncomfortable that can feel, because we’ve lived it ourselves.

Here’s how we do things differently:

✨ You choose who you vibe with ✨

We work alongside you to carefully select a support worker who feels like the right fit.

✨ Consistency matters ✨

Once you’ve found your person, that’s *your* support worker. No surprises, no strangers.

✨ Safe introductions ✨

Inevitably extra team members are needed (like for sick leave or backup), we’ll only introduce them when *you* feel ready, and always alongside your safe worker.

✨ Community, not just care ✨

Our goal is to make support feel comfortable, connected, and real. Never clinical or impersonal.

Because support should feel safe, familiar, and affirming.

👉 If you’re looking for supports that feel friendly, consistent, and truly person‑centred, we’d love to chat 😊
