Golden Hour Oats

When an amazing friend releases a little more magic fairy dust into the wellness space, Remedy Kitchen celebrates!

The Seed Cycle™ | Cyclical Nutrition has held a special place in my heart for many years. Founder Melissa Kovacevic , is constantly researching and creating ways to support women’s health, and her latest release has caught my attention.

Meet Sea Buckthorn Berry Powder, a vibrant golden powder made from sustainably grown wild sea buckthorn berries. Mel has created this new product to support women through the perimenopausal and menopausal years. Sea buckthorn is naturally rich in vitamin C, flavonoids, carotenoids and a unique fatty acid called Omega-7, making it a rather special addition to your morning bowl.

Oats are the perfect base for a little extra nutritional goodness, and this golden ray of sunshine certainly hits all the marks. It’s creamy, sweet, tart and deeeelicious!

Ingredients: serves 2

1 cup Remedy Porridge — either Omega or Milled Oat
2 cups almond milk
1 tablespoon fresh ginger, finely grated
1 teaspoon Sea Buckthorn Berry Powder

Toppings: macadamias, passionfruit, granola, raw buckwheat and a drizzle of honey.

As we navigate the cooler months, I love giving my morning bowl a little extra goodness. Once the oats are cooked, stir through the sea buckthorn powder, freshly grated ginger and honey. Adding these at the end helps preserve their fresh flavour and minimises unnecessary heat exposure to their delicate nutrients and plant compounds.

A golden little bowl of goodness to start the day.

The Perfect Pear! 🍐

Bircher muesli is one of those weekday breakfast saviours, super easy when you’re time poor but don’t want your health to be compromised. With just five wholesome ingredients, you can have this mixed and in the fridge in no time, with all the hard work happening while you sleep!

Nourishing and delicious as it is, you can always add a few extras if you’re feeling a little indulgent.

Winter is the season for celebrating the pear, and for those of you with a little extra time up your sleeve, there’s nothing more decadent than a beautifully poached pear standing tall on top of this nourishing bowl.

The best part? It can all be done ahead of time, on the weekend or the night before. Poaching is also a wonderful way to make the most of fruit before it spoils. ZERO WASTE is music to my ears! The poaching liquid can be used to store your pears too, keeping them delicious for another day.

Ingredients: 2 servings

The night before.

1 cup Remedy Porridge Oats, Milled Oat or Omega
1 cup yoghurt
½ cup water or juice, pear or apple
¼ cup currants

The next morning, peel and grate 1 large pear, stir through the Bircher and serve!

Toppings: poached pears, slivered almonds, granola, cinnamon, maple syrup… or whatever your heart desires!

Ummm cookies!
Yes, a true weakness of mine is a hot cup of tea and a cookie or two.
Gingerbread would have to be my all time favorite. I’d love to know what type of cookie has you reaching into the cookie jar?

Remedy Sticky Chicky Kebab

This is one of those recipes that makes life just a little bit easier. Mix up the marinade ahead of time, let the chicken soak up all those delicious flavours, and dinner is practically sorted!

The other thing I love about this dish is how versatile it is when it comes to choosing foods to serve with it. If you’ve been following me for a while, you’ll know I’m a big fan of zero waste. Hunt through the fridge, check out the pantry and let the universe decide!

Ingredients

500g chicken breast, cut into 1-inch cubes

½ cup Remedy Kitchen Superb Seasoning Mix

¼ cup BBQ sauce

¼ cup honey

2 tbsp tamari

1 tbsp EVOO, plus extra for cooking

To serve

Chilli, chives, sesame seeds, lime juice, coriander, parsley… whatever you have on hand!

Think rice, noodles, vegetables, salad, tortillas, Greek yoghurt or potatoes.

Method

In a large bowl, mix together the Superb Seasoning Mix, BBQ sauce, honey, tamari and EVOO.

Add the chicken and mix well until every piece is coated. Cover and pop in the fridge for 2 hours or, even better, overnight.

Thread the chicken onto skewers, leaving a little space between each piece to allow for even cooking.

Heat a little EVOO in a grill pan over medium-low heat. The trick here is to cook the chicken thoroughly without burning that delicious marinade. Turn the skewers every 3–4 minutes, allowing each side to caramelise and become beautifully sticky.

I served mine tucked into a warm tortilla with crunchy cucumber, fresh lettuce, creamy avocado, zesty pickled onions (thanks Boo!), fresh chilli, mint, coriander and Greek yoghurt.

And, of course, a generous squeeze of lime.

So good, so fresh!

Today marks my 700th post!!

Not bad for a girl who was barely active on social media before starting Remedy Kitchen.

This creative space has become one of the greatest gifts of owning a business. It’s where I get to share what makes me tick, and in many ways, it’s been the best therapist a girl could ask for.

I’m incredibly proud of what I’ve built, even if Remedy is just a small fish in a very big pond. I always knew food was my calling. It’s the Allie to my Noah.

What I never fully appreciated when I started Remedy was everything that came with sharing it online. Recipe creation, food styling, photography, lighting, taste testing, editing (a huge shout-out to my graphic designer!), learning Canva, writing captions, planning content... and don’t even get me started on Meta.

So today, this post is simply a little pat on my own back.

When you work alone and every idea comes from a one-woman show, it’s important to pause and celebrate the little milestones.

Because sometimes, being alive really is the special occasion. 🤍

Rhubarb + Oats

A big thank you to for this delicious zesty rhubarb + ginger compote recipe!

I’ve always loved making a batch of stewed rhubarb, but while reading Ayurvedic Rituals by Chasca Summerville, I discovered the wonderfully warming addition of fresh ginger. I can confidently say it’s absolutely tastebuds and tummy worthy.

Ayurveda celebrates simple, seasonal foods that nourish the body, and wholesome oats fit beautifully into that philosophy. This week I’ve been enjoying this vibrant compote over my Remedy Kitchen overnight oats, porridge and oat based waffles.

The perfect topping for a chilly winter’s morning, when life is calling for a slower, quieter moment.
