We spend so much time thinking of medicine as something we have to swallow, tolerate or take because we should.

But for centuries, apothecaries worked with a very different idea.

Flowers | Spices | Cacao | Honey | Fruit | Herbs | Sugar.

They knew that medicine could be beautiful, pleasurable and deeply sensory.

And that's the inspiration behind The Sweet Apothecary at this coming Sunday.

A full day of hands-on kitchen medicine-making where we'll explore the ancient intersection of sweetness and healing.

You'll make:

Herbal Syrups
Botanical Drops & Pastilles
Botanical Sugars
Your own Apothecary Chocolate Bar

You'll smell the herbs.
Taste the botanicals.
Mix the spices.
Make things with your hands.
Learn the why behind the ingredients.
And leave with beautiful things you've made yourself.

This isn't a cooking class.

It's a medicine-making day that happens to taste extraordinary.

And yes - there will be chocolate!

The Sweet Apothecary
A full day at The H Dispensary
Limited places.

Come spend a day making medicine the delicious way.

Not all relief comes in a prescription bottle. Some of it grows in the ground.

A 2023 review of 22 clinical trials found that black cohosh helped women sleep better - without altering hormone levels!

Other botanicals with research-backed support for menopause-related sleep issues include valerian, red clover, and lemon balm.

Natural doesn’t mean one-size-fits-all. If you’re curious about gentle, evidence-informed ways to feel more balanced, you’re in the right place.

Save this post for your menopause toolkit and follow for more research-backed tips.

I was delighted to attend the Young at Heart exhibition on Wednesday night - an art exhibition by Eryn Marshall and her mother, Cheryl, on the theme of midlife.

We at The H Dispensary sponsored it and all proceeds went to the charity supporting people with eating disorders, Butterfly Foundation.

Congratulations to this mother and daughter team for raising awareness of both the devastation of eating disorders and the challenges of being a midlife woman.

It's never really about the herbs.

Or the supplements.

Or even the hormones.

It's about the moment a woman realises...

"I'm not imagining this."

She finally understands what's happening in her body.

She stops blaming herself.

She starts feeling hopeful again.

After more than 35 years of practice, those moments still make me smile.

❤️ That's why I do what I do.

If you've been wondering whether what you're experiencing is "normal," my Free Menopause Guide is a gentle place to start.

It will help you better understand what's happening in your body and how you can begin supporting yourself naturally.

What’s ACTUALLY happening in your body right now and why “pushing through” just isn’t working ⬇️

If you’ve been feeling like your body changed overnight; waking up drenched at 3 AM, dealing with sudden brain fog, uncharacteristic anxiety, or feeling completely wiped out. I want you to know something important:

You are not broken, and you do not just have to “live with it.”

In perimenopause and menopause, your hormonal landscape shifts. As your ovaries produce less estrogen and progesterone, your entire system has to adapt - especially your brain, adrenals, liver, and gut. Pushing through with high-stress workouts or ignoring the exhaustion only puts more demand on an already busy nervous system.

Real relief happens when you give your body the targeted support it’s asking for:
• Keep blood sugar steady: Protein and healthy fats at every meal prevent cortisol spikes that trigger hot flashes, brain fog, and mood dips.
• Support your adrenals: As ovarian hormone levels taper, your adrenals take on extra workload. Nervous system downtime and rest aren't luxuries right now, they're essential.
• Nourish your liver and gut: These key organs do the heavy lifting when it comes to processing and clearing hormones cleanly out of your system.
• Shift your movement: Swap high-intensity burnout sessions for resistance training and grounding movement to protect joint health and bone density without exhausting your system.
• Targeted nutrients: Key minerals like magnesium, along with supportive adaptogens, can help ease the transition when tailored to your unique symptoms.

This phase of life isn't about toughing it out. It’s about giving your body what modern living so often prevents us from getting enough of.

Comment "PAUSE" below and I’ll send my Free Menopause Guide straight to your DMs so you can start taking back control of your health today!

One of the greatest compliments I can receive isn't simply that someone has lost weight.

It's hearing that they've found a way of living that feels sustainable.

So many women come to me feeling like they have to choose between strict diets or giving up altogether.

But lasting change rarely comes from extremes.

It comes from understanding your body, making small consistent changes, and finding an approach that fits your life.

This beautiful message from a client says it perfectly:

"I feel like I found my groove. I'm not obsessing, but finding balance with a goal as well as flexibility with the ups and downs of life."

That balance is what we're aiming for.

Sustainable. Nourishing. Real.

If you're tired of all-or-nothing approaches, know that there's another way.
