Some lessons need repeating, and trusting a modification is one of them. The bent knee, the block under the hand, the chair instead of the floor, each one is still a full practice, no matter how many times the ego suggests otherwise.

Honouring your body is key to a sustainable and enjoyable yoga practice that changes as you change.

Listen to your body and meet yourself on any given day with love, Ahimsa (non harming) as the cornerstone of your practice.

All our classes give you this permission. There is not need to push or self abandon just to do what your "think" you should.

the time for that attitude is over. The time to honour yourself has arrived.

There is a certain kind of relief in practicing alongside people whose bodies also carry history - the surgery, the disc that no longer bends the way it used to, the sleep that hormonal change interrupted. A space that honours aging and injured bodies is not a lesser room. It is a more honest one, a nurturing one, an adapting one.

Flow Yoga with Gail, Monday lunchtimes at 12:15, has become exactly that kind of room for a lot of our regulars. If you have been practicing alone and are ready for company that understands the changing needs of your body through all stages of life, then this is a space for you.

All of our classes allow you to practice in your body. to be present with your changing needs and to honour how you are in any given moment.

We would love to share our beautiful space with you. 😍

Sunday Self-care

Beginning yoga with an existing injury, an aging joint, or a body in hormonal transition is not a complication it is simply where the practice starts. For a great many people who walk through our door this is the case and we welcome them. Beginner-friendly yoga means no one has to arrive pain-free or flexible to belong here. You just need to show up with a wellness to meet yourself where you are at.

Our P1 classes are perfect for you to start your journey. No judgement, no pressure. Just gentle accessible yoga that can adapt to your needs. No fancy poses, just a space to be able to deeply listen to your body, mind and Soul.

Here are 5 simple things you can incorporate into your day to help your feel more connected, inspired and mindful.

I do them all, daily, and they help to keep me feeling more connected to my spirit, Soul and good energy. They are most helpful on the days I feel uninspired, frustrated and sad. And honestly I have had more days feeling like that than feeling good for the last few years.

So they really work to help shift your mood, keep you getting up each day and engaging in the world positively. This is not toxic positivity. It is sitting with your sorrows, acknowledging the feelings and then choosing to focus your energy and attention onto things that are more positive.

This helps to raise your frequency and heal your hurts.

Your self-care is not a reward for your hard work, it is your right!
Reclaim it in any ways you can. These things cost you nothing and can make the world of difference to your outlook on life and how you engage with it.

If you would like some personal healing or spiritual guidance, DM me. I would be happy to help.

With love,
namaste Eli

You’re doing better than you think you are.

Give yourself some credit.

You’re navigating life, figuring things out, making choices, changing, learning and showing up — and that’s no small thing.

You don’t need to have it all figured out.

Stay present.
Take the next breath.
Take the next step.

And remember:

Keep going.

Yoga Flow vs… all the other yoga

Ever wondered what makes a Yoga Flow class different?

Think of yoga styles as different doors into the same room. The destination might be similar, but the way you get there can feel completely different.

Yoga Flow
Breath meets movement. You move from one posture to the next with a little more rhythm and fluidity. Expect to build heat, explore strength and mobility, and leave feeling like you’ve actually moved your body.

Yin Yoga
Slower. Longer holds. Less doing, more allowing. A beautiful way to work with the deeper tissues of the body and practise being with what is.

Restorative Yoga
The art of doing less. Supported postures, longer rests and plenty of space for the nervous system to settle. Basically, permission to stop trying so hard.

Hatha Yoga
A little more pause between postures. Time to explore alignment, breath and awareness without needing to rush from one shape to another.

Vinyasa
A dynamic, breath-led practice where the sequence itself becomes part of the meditation. Move, breathe, repeat.

So which one is "best"?

There isn't one.

The better question is: what does your body, mind and life need today?

Some days you want to move.
Some days you need to soften.
Some days you need to lie on the floor and reconsider your life choices.

Yoga has room for all of it.

If Yoga Flow sounds like your kind of thing, come and join us on the mat.

Midlife strength looks different than the strength of twenty years ago, and that difference is not a loss, it is a recalibration and an evolution. Yoga for strength in an aging body builds from stability outward: a steadier core, a more responsive spine, muscles trained for function rather than display.

Kat Sadler's Ashtanga Led Class, Tuesdays at 6, trains exactly this kind of strength - the kind you can trust under real conditions, not just on the mat. Learning how to be patient with yourself, responsive to your body and enjoy the changes is what you will find as you move breath and honour this age old practice.

You will want to have had some yoga experience for this one and a basic level of strength and body awareness, but jump in and give it a go.

You dont know what you can do until you try and you might just surprise yourself.

Spring does not rush the blossom, and it does not apologize for how long the bud took either. A body healing from injury or moving through hormonal change is on a similarly unhurried schedule, one the calendar cannot override no matter how much we might want it to.

Refresh Vinyasa Flow with Gail Robertson, Sunday afternoons at 3:30, is named for this exact unhurried unfolding. A 14-day unlimited pass for $45 gives your own blossoming room to happen at its actual pace.

Let yourself blossom!🌸
