Inner Warrior Awakened “Empowering independence and confidence through movement, somatic mentoring, and active support.”

🎵 Follow the Leader… and follow Elliott’s lead! 🎵

At Inner Warrior Awakened, some of our best sessions happen when we step back and let the participant lead the way.

Today, Elliott chose the soundtrack, the pace, and the movement. Through balancing, jumping, following directions, and playful exploration, he was building so much more than physical skills.

💙 Confidence
💙 Body awareness
💙 Coordination
💙 Decision-making
💙 Emotional regulation
💙 Connection

This is what mentoring through movement looks like.

Rather than forcing a program onto someone, we meet them where they are, lean into their interests, and use movement as the vehicle for learning, growth, and engagement.

When participants feel safe, heard, and in control of their experience, that’s where the magic happens.

Because meaningful progress doesn’t always come from structured exercise—it often comes from play, connection, and being empowered to lead.

💛 What if the real goal isn’t fitness… but feeling safe enough to belong? 💛

At Inner Warrior Awakened, we know that for many people living with disability, neurodivergence, trauma, anxiety, or social isolation, walking into a gym can feel overwhelming.

Before confidence comes connection.
Before progress comes trust.
Before strength comes safety.

That’s why we do things differently.

We don’t just focus on reps, sets and exercise. We focus on creating a space where people feel seen, understood and accepted exactly as they are.

🌱 A place where it’s okay to ask for help.
🌱 A place where it’s okay to take a break.
🌱 A place where it’s okay to have a hard day.
🌱 A place where individuality is celebrated, not corrected.

Every interaction is an opportunity to build confidence, connection and self-belief.

For some participants, the biggest win isn’t lifting a heavier weight or running faster.

It’s saying:
💬 “I feel comfortable here.”
💬 “I’ve made a friend.”
💬 “I can do this.”
💬 “I belong.”

Because when people feel safe, incredible things.

Today Cappy led training. These psychosocial skills are created when our warriors feel safe, emotionally connected and their vagus nerve hits the reset button. He can me in with a game plan to “mix it up” and guided his coach in the direction he wanted to go. Completely participant led. That’s success in my book!

This is how we do Tuesdays!! Sure, at first glance, it’s “the gym”. But it’s so much more than that. It’s somatic healing, its connection, its community access. It’s the psycho- social healing qualities you find in a shared joy of moving your body 🙏🏻🙏🏻

Parkinson’s doesn’t just impact strength or movement — it impacts communication between the brain and body.

That’s why cross-body work is so important.

Movements that cross the midline of the body (like crawling patterns, boxing combinations, marching, reaching, rowing and rotational work) encourage both sides of the brain to communicate with each other more effectively. This can help support coordination, balance, rhythm, posture, gait and overall body awareness.

For many people living with Parkinson’s, everyday movements can start to feel smaller, slower or harder to initiate. Cross-body exercises challenge the nervous system in a safe and engaging way, helping the brain stay active and connected to movement patterns that matter in daily life.

At Inner Warrior Awakened, we use purposeful movement to support not just physical capacity, but confidence, emotional regulation, cognitive engagement and quality of life.

Sometimes the goal isn’t “fitness.”
Sometimes the goal is:
🧠 staying connected
🚶 maintaining independence
⚖️ reducing falls risk
💬 improving confidence in the community
❤️ helping someone feel more like themselves again

Movement is powerful. Especially when it’s intentional.
