Once, I experienced back pain over and over again for years, until the day I stopped and asked one simple question that changed everything.
I asked my back what it was trying to tell me. Why this pain had appeared and what kind of healing it was asking for.
And I listened.
In that moment, I set aside the thoughts running through my mind: what will people think of me, does this even make sense, will this even work.
I listened to the answers that came up within me, and I followed everything it asked for- through guided visualization:
My back asked for a massage- I imagined a deep massage right in the painful spot.
It asked for music and colors- I hummed calming sounds and imagined healing lights wrapping around it.
It asked to mend the tears in my aura- I visualized them closing.
Finally, I grounded its burdens into the earth and felt strong hands reaching my back and supporting it.
When I finished, I rated the pain again.
If before it was 9 out of 10, it dropped to 4.
Years have passed since then, and something in my relationship with bodily pain has completely changed.
