I would like to highlight the wonderful work of Belongside Families, an organisation dedicated to supporting parents and carers of children with disability, developmental delay, autism, and rare or genetic conditions.
Belongside Families offers a range of free, peer-led programs designed to help families feel connected, informed, and empowered. Their services include:
✅ Online parent support groups (Virtual MyTime)
✅ A supportive online community for parents and carers
✅ One-on-one peer support with experienced parent mentors
✅ Practical workshops and educational webinars
✅ In-person parent catch-ups across selected regions, including the Central Coast
✅ The Healthy Mothers Healthy Families wellbeing program for carers
What makes these programs unique is that they are created and delivered by parents who understand the journey firsthand, providing practical, real-world support in a welcoming and inclusive environment. Most programs are free to access, with no diagnosis, referral, or NDIS plan required.
If you're a parent, carer, or professional supporting families, I encourage you to explore the valuable resources and programs available through Belongside Families.
