Mothering is not always linear.
Not every story follows the path we imagined.

Today, on Mother’s Day, I’m reflecting on what mothers bring to a family…..the invisible holding, the nurturing, the softness, the strength, the endless giving of themselves.

Today I honour:
The women longing to become mothers.
The mothers who have lost babies or children.
The children whose mothers are no longer here.
The stepmothers, grandmothers, foster mothers and chosen mothers.
The women mothering through hardship, exhaustion, uncertainty and healing.
The mothers of animals who pour love into caring for their creatures.

Mothering takes many forms.
It is not defined by biology alone, but by devotion, care, tenderness and love.

May today feel gentle for those celebrating, grieving, longing, remembering, or simply getting through. 🤍

Why warm foods?? Do you often hear acupuncturists talk about eating cooked foods and avoiding cold? Here is why…

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, warm cooked foods are considered more supportive for digestion and overall energy, especially as we move into autumn.

As the weather cools down in autumn, the body is thought to naturally need more internal warmth. Cold or raw foods are believed to slow digestion and require more energy for the body to process, which can leave some people feeling more tired, sluggish, or ‘damp’ in the system.

Warm, cooked foods like stews, soups, slow-cooked meats, and roasted vegetables are encouraged because they…

* Support digestion and make food easier to process
* Help maintain internal warmth as the temperature drops
* Feel grounding and nourishing during seasonal change
* Align with the body’s need for more stability in autumn

It’s a simple seasonal shift that many people notice helps them feel more balanced, less bloated, and more energised.

Stew season feels very right right now 🍲

Easter is a beautiful time of connection, rest, and (let’s be honest) a little chocolate indulgence 🍫💛
In Traditional Chinese Medicine, this is a moment where we support digestion, move Qi, and find balance after richer foods and busy social time.

Here are a few simple ways to stay balanced this Easter:

🌱 Support your digestion (Spleen Qi)
Start your day warm. Think oats, congee, or ginger tea. Warm foods help your body process richness more easily.

🍫 Balance the chocolate & sweets
Too much sugar can create “dampness” causing sluggishness & bloating.
Try peppermint or chrysanthemum tea, and add bitter greens like rocket or kale.

🌸 Soothe stress & emotions
Holidays can stir the Liver system. Go for a walk, stretch, breathe deeply, and try gentle acupressure between the toes (Liver 3).

🔥 Keep things light
Balance richer foods with fresh, hydrating options like cucumber, citrus, and warm fluids.

💫 After Easter reset
Think simple meals, gentle movement, early nights, and giving your body space to rebalance.

Wishing you a calm, nourishing, and joy-filled Easter 🐣🌿

Love Brooke.

A little glimpse into my acupuncture space today 🌿

A calm room in the hinterland where you can slow down, breathe, and take a moment for your health and wellbeing.

I offer acupuncture to support a wide range of concerns including stress, pain, sleep, digestion, hormonal balance, pregnancy and general health.

A little glimpse into my acupuncture space 🌿

This is what I love about this work.
When the needles gently enter, it’s not about me “fixing” anything… it’s about allowing your body the space to do what it already knows how to do — heal.

This room holds women in all seasons.
Pre-conception.
Pregnancy.
Postpartum.
Hormonal shifts.
Overwhelm.
Exhaustion.
Recalibration.

There is something incredibly powerful about lying down, being still, and letting your nervous system soften.

Women’s health is not just symptoms.
It’s cycles.
It’s stress.
It’s story.
It’s being heard.

And that’s what this space is for 🤍

If you’ve been meaning to book in, this is your little nudge.

I’m back in the clinic.

This time away wasn’t a pause….it was full, demanding, and real.
So returning to this space feels like coming back to something solid.

A room for slowing down.
For being held.
For tending to bodies that have been carrying a lot.

I’m here again, working gently and with care.
If your system is tired, you’re not alone….and you’re very welcome.
