When our children have big feelings it is not our job to stop the feelings from happening, it is our job to allow the feelings to unfold, to ride the wave of emotion with them (without allowing it to pull us under), and anchor them with our presence.

Imagine a relationship so honest and so pure, you were safe to be your whole self, perceived warts and all. Imagine a relational other who wanted no more from you than your connection, to be seen and heard and who sees and hears you in return. Imagine a place where you are so at ease with yourself and with life that the real you begins to shine through, the you who has been kept hidden away for so long, the you perhaps YOU haven’t even met yet. Imagine what might be possible when you invite such love and acceptance into your life.

Equine Assisted Learning and Equine Assisted Psychotherapy can support clients to experience safe relationships such as this, alongside horses, free from judgement or criticism. For some, this is their first experience of safe relationship and the first step on the path to healing.
