Our waiting room puzzles have become a bit of a flourish hit. 🧩💗

This butterfly puzzle lived on our table for months, slowly coming together piece by piece, across lots of different visits and lots of different hands.

I love seeing everyone contribute to it. Someone might add one piece or two while they wait, someone else gets completely drawn in, and then another person comes back to see what’s changed since their last visit.

There’s something really lovely about watching it slowly come together.

The butterfly puzzle is finally finished, which meant there was only one thing to do…

Start another. 🌸

Our new pink beauty, on loan from Cheya’s beautiful Nan, began last week.

I wonder how many hands and visits it will take to finish this one. 💗

Waitlists suck. We don’t like them either. 💛

So, we’re trying something different.

Rather than keeping a long list of people waiting without knowing when support might become available, we’re inviting you to stay connected with flourish.

By joining our Keep Me in the Loop updates, you’ll hear directly when new programs, groups and opportunities for support open up. You can also keep an eye on our website and socials for what’s coming up.

It isn’t a waitlist, and it doesn’t guarantee a place, but it means you won’t miss new flourish offerings as they become available.

If you’re already on our current waitlist, you remain our priority. We’ve been in touch with everyone waiting to discuss the supports expected to become available soon.

And for our previous flourishers, nothing is changing, you’ll continue to be welcome on our Reconnect List whenever you’re ready to return.

Head to our website to stay connected. 💗

Have you noticed your child is skipping meals, worrying about their body weight, or exercising more often? If you're worried about these changes, there is help available.

Through EDFA's Nourish, Nurture, Notice program, you can book with Paediatric Dietitian Dr Lyza Norton for a FREE 15-minute, one-on-one Q&A session. This is an informal online chat where you can bring your questions or concerns about the changes you've noticed with your child. Early intervention can make a big difference.

Grab a coffee, share what you've spotted, and have your questions answered.

Sessions run fortnightly. The next session is Wednesday, July 15.

💛 Deep Sadness & Supporting Children After Bondi 💛

We are holding deep sadness for what has happened in Bondi. Our hearts are especially with the Jewish community, those directly affected, their loved ones, and the wider community.

Like adults, children feel big emotions and changes in energy in times like this; you might notice this through words, play, movement, sleep, or behaviour. All of these are normal responses to frightening events.

Here are some ways parents and caregivers can support children:

💟 Reassure safety – Use simple, clear language and gently remind children that they are safe.

💟 Take care of yourself – Share your feelings and changes in energy, and show gentle ways to care for yourself. Children learn that it’s okay to have big emotions and energy shifts, and that there are ways to feel steady again.

💟 Look for the helpers – Help children to notice the people who show up to care, protect, and support others. There are always more helpers than harm.

💟 Invite communication in many forms – Talking, drawing, play, movement, or quiet time: follow your child’s lead.

💟 Reduce overwhelm – Limit news, adult conversations, and sensory overload when possible.

💟 Name and validate feelings & shifts in energy – All emotions and changes in energy are okay. Children show distress in different ways.

💟 Keep routines, with flexibility – Familiar routines help children feel grounded, but allow extra support and rest when needed.

Do you have any other tips that are helpful tha supports your family?

Standing together in love, care, and connection. 💗💗💗
