Today is a day of mixed feelings as we say goodbye to our wonderful Sakshi and wish her all the best as she starts a new adventure! โค๏ธ

We are definitely sad to see you go, but also incredibly excited for everything that is ahead of you.

Sakshi, you have been such a valuable part of our team โ€” funny, extremely professional and ethical, incredibly detail-oriented, and somehow always able to manage a mountain of staff requests at the same time while keeping everyone happy (please leave the formula)!

We will miss you very deeply, especially your dry, cheeky and very sassy/Sakshi sense of humour and those perfectly timed comments that always made us laugh!

Thank you for everything you have brought to our team, for all your hard work, and for always being someone we could count on (especially when it came to taking those difficult calls)!

We are so happy for you and wish you nothing but the very best in your next adventure. You will definitely be missed! โค๏ธ

We understand that community access is about more than getting out and about โ€” itโ€™s about supporting our participants to connect with their community, enjoy the things that are meaningful to them, and build their independence.

For Heather, art is a special way to express herself, sharing memories, emotions and stories through her work. Being able to share her art with the wider community supports Heather to connect with her identity and celebrate her unique and natural talents.

Last weekend, during community access, Heather was supported by her long-term staff member, Jessica, to visit Parap Markets, where she proudly shared and sold some of her artwork.

Respite Time = Skills, Fun & Good Times! โœจ

Weโ€™ve been supporting Anastasios with regular respite for over a year, and every stay brings a new goal, new skills and plenty of fun!

During his July respite, we focused on building independence through everyday skills like cooking and meal preparation.

But itโ€™s not all about the chores! He also got out into the community, watched sunset at Mindil Beach, attended Knock Club with his support worker, had some laughs, made social connections and even enjoyed a well-deserved foot spa at the end of the day!

Learn a little, have fun a lot, and make every respite count! ๐Ÿ’™

We are proudly celebrating one year of our Women's Yarning Circle!

Over the past 12 months, this wonderful group has brought women together to connect, build friendships, learn new skills, and most importantly, have fun in a safe and welcoming environment.

Together, we've shared so many amazing experiences, including:
๐ŸŒธ Craft sessions
๐Ÿ–๏ธ Kangaroo tail cooking at the beach
๐Ÿฆ˜ Visits to the Carpe Diem Animal Program
๐Ÿง  A joint session with Dementia NT
๐Ÿง˜โ€โ™€๏ธ Yoga sessions
๐ŸŽ„ Christmas celebrations
๐ŸŒ Banana bread and Christmas cookie baking
๐Ÿ’š Interoception activities
๐Ÿ˜‚ And, of course, plenty of laughs along the way!

A special shout-out to our participant Evette, who has shown up every single week for the past year. Your commitment and positive spirit make our group so special.

And a huge thank you to everyone who has attended, supported, and helped make this group such a success. We can't wait to another year of connection, learning, and empowering women in our community!

Today, we want to say a big THANK YOU to our support worker, Stuart, who has been part of the Carpe Diem team for the past 5 years! ๐ŸŽ‰

Stuart is a very caring and compassionate person when it comes to supporting his clients. Over the years, he has built strong and meaningful relationships with the people he supports and has helped make a positive difference in the lives of many people within our community.

We truly appreciate Stuartโ€™s loyalty, hard work, and commitment over the years. He continues to show up for his clients, supporting them through the good days and the challenging ones, always with patience, kindness, and a genuine desire to help.

Stuart is also our official Car Fault Detective! If thereโ€™s a strange noise, a warning light, or something that just doesnโ€™t seem right, he will probably find it before anyone else does! Heโ€™s always polite, incredibly helpful, and somehow has a sixth sense for spotting car problems. If your car could talk, it would probably confess everything to him!

Thank you for everything you do, and congratulations on 5 years with Carpe Diem!
Hereโ€™s to many more years ahead! ๐Ÿ’™

This week, our Women's Yarning Circle group spent the morning at our little farm, and it was a beautiful reminder of how therapeutic it can be when we combine nature, animals and connections ๐Ÿ’š๐ŸŒฟโœจ

For nearly two hours, everyone was fully engaged in the painting activity without worrying about what came next, just being present, connecting, and enjoying the moment.

10/07/2026

On Wednesday this week, we held the soft opening of our Animal Program, and we couldn't be more excited to share a few snapshot highlights from the day with you!

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the day so fun.

โœจ Expressions of Interest are now open! โœจ

If you would like to learn more about our Animal Program or register your interest, we'd love to hear from you.

๐ŸŽ‰ Success Stories: Making Wishes Come True

At the heart of person-centred support is something simple but powerful: listening.

When Rebecca shared her wishes for her birthday, we made sure her voice was heard. She wanted to celebrate with the people she loves most, enjoying a picnic with her family, and having a few special touches to make the day extra special: a pink birthday cake, a beautiful dress, and some makeup.

Through collaborative planning, open communication, and advocacy with her support network, Rebecca's birthday wishes became a reality. Seeing her smile as she celebrated surrounded by family, reminded us that it's often the little things that make the biggest difference.

Supporting people to express their wishes, make their own choices, and celebrate life's special moments is what person-centred care means to us at Carpe Diem Community Services.

Happy Birthday, Rebecca! ๐ŸŽ‚

๐Ÿฉท Success Stories: Every voice matters. Every choice deserves to be heard.

Every person deserves to have their voice heard, make their own choices, and be actively involved in decisions that affect their life.

Heather told us she wanted a change in her living environment. She felt that her current home was no longer meeting her needs and hoped for a fresh start in a place where she could feel safe, comfortable, and happy.

We listened to Heather's concerns and worked closely with her, her support network, and key stakeholders to advocate for her wishes. Most importantly, was involved every step of the way, inspecting potential properties and choosing the home that felt right for her. Once her new home was approved, Heather was also supported to select furniture and household items that reflected her own preferences.

After months of teamwork, Heather successfully moved into her new home. Since the move, Heather reported feeling happier. Her new environment has had a significant positive impact on both her mental and physical wellbeing.

This is a wonderful reminder that when we truly listen and advocate alongside the people we support, meaningful change can happen.

We're so proud to have supported Heather in creating a place that feels like home for her๐Ÿก
