We’re proud to support social work students on their placement who have been developing their skills in cultural awareness and responsive practice.

Through implementing the social and emotional wellbeing model, our students are building meaningful approaches that promote inclusion, understanding, and positive outcomes.

We want to say a big THANK YOU to everyone who came and said hello to us yesterday at the Darwin Disability Expo! 💛

We had an incredible day connecting with new people, families, support coordinators, and so many amazing service providers from across the Darwin community.

It was also really special to see a few of our participants around enjoying the expo with us! 😊

Thank you everyone who stopped by our stall, had a chat, grabbed some goodies, and learned more about what we do.

Today we’re excited to introduce the newest addition to the Carpe Diem family!

Welcome Carlos!

With a strong administrative background, a sharp eye for detail, and a wealth of knowledge, he brings both professionalism and passion to the team.

But don’t just take our word for it. Hear from himself:

I’m from Colombia and have been living in Darwin for the past two years, after spending more than eight years in Australia building both my personal and professional life.
I’m an economist with over four years of experience providing administrative, financial, and operational support in fast-paced environments. I’m confident in managing competing priorities, organizing workflows, and delivering accurate, high-quality outcomes. My experience includes diary and email management, travel coordination, preparing reports, and supporting financial and procurement processes.
I’m very interested in continuing to grow professionally and would like to strengthen my skills within the NDIS sector, contributing to meaningful and person-centred support.
Outside of work, I enjoy football, traveling, dancing, and camping. I also own a company that sells Colombian coffee in Darwin, and I am always keen to explore new places and experiences.

There’s nothing quite like a little self-care to brighten the week !

Our team has been embracing person-centred care in the most joyful way with Rebecca, who absolutely enjoys her weekly pampering sessions. From gentle styling to a fresh “glow up,” these moments are all about celebrating what makes her feel confident, happy, and truly herself.

The highlight every time? Her big smile and enthusiastic declaration: “Preeetty lady!”

It’s these small, meaningful routines that make such a big difference. Building trust, boosting confidence, and creating moments of pure joy. Person-centred care means listening, understanding, and making space for what matters most to each participant. We’re so proud to have an amazing team facilitating these moments to add a bit of sparkle to her community access.

Today we celebrate Harmony Day and the values that guide us in our community service work every day. Carpe Diem embodies respect, inclusivity, kindness, and the strength that comes from diversity.

A special shoutout to Jaspreet who truly embodied the spirit of the day, shining brightly in orange and bringing her signature bubbly energy to everything she does. Her willingness to think outside - the - box reminds us that fresh ideas and positive attitudes can make a real difference in the lives of those we support.

This week we took a moment to celebrate our incredible leadership team with a well-deserved team lunch!

It was a fantastic time filled with laughter, great conversations, and plenty of appreciation for the teamwork that makes everything we do possible. Moments like these remind us how lucky we are to work alongside such a dedicated and supportive group of leaders.
