Paddling the waters of Docklands, Melbourne you will find DAM Busters Breast Cancer Survivor Dragon Boat Club embracing life. DAM Busters are Determined And Mighty myth Busters - determined in spirit and
mighty of heart, busting the myths surrounding exercise after a cancer diagnosis. Founded in 2001, the DAM Busters were the first breast cancer survivor dragon boat club established in metropolitan Melbourne. Today, our club proudly welcomes ALL cancer survivors and their supporters who want to enjoy the camaraderie, fitness, and fun that dragon boating offers. We believe that life after a cancer diagnosis can be full of strength, connection, and joy. Through paddling together, we rebuild confidence, restore health, and celebrate resilience — both on and off the water. Our members come from diverse backgrounds, all ages, and all fitness levels. Whether you’re recovering from treatment, supporting a loved one, or simply seeking a positive and welcoming community, the DAM Busters offer a place where everyone belongs. Dragon boating is more than a sport for us — it’s a symbol of hope, teamwork, and thriving beyond cancer. You‘ll find us on the water twice a week:
* Sunday 8:30am boat & equipment prep and warm up
9:00-10:00am on the water, followed by coffee
* Tuesday 6 :00pm boat & equipment prep and warmup
6:30-7:30pm on the water, followed by dinner

Today, the Dam Busters, joined by the Footscray Falcons, Teresa’s family and friends, came together for the Petals on the Water Ceremony to honour and remember our beautiful Teresa. ❤️

We miss you, T, more than words can say. You are forever in our hearts and always in our thoughts.

A heartfelt thank you to the Footscray Falcons for helping create such a beautiful and meaningful day. You are a wonderful group of people, and your support, kindness and generosity are truly appreciated.

Such a beautiful morning on the water in Docklands after a very wet couple of days. A big welcome to our new team member Liane, who joined after tasting one of our yummy sausages last week at Bunnings, Port Melbourne.

Also, what a weekend for VIC27! 🐉💙

So much excitement, team pride and plenty of nervous energy as paddlers put all that hard work and training to the test!

Today, a few of our crew took on the VIC27 Senior C trials, with Senior A and Senior B stepping up tomorrow. A big weekend, a great opportunity and plenty of familiar faces out there giving it everything.

And a huge congratulations to our wonderful coach Helen, who will be leading the VIC27 BCP Squad — an exciting and very well-deserved role!
