I’m starting something simple here.

The One-Minute Postcard.

A quiet 60-second scene, shared with the original sound, as a small pause in your day.

No voiceover.
No lesson.
No need to do anything.

Just a moment to let your eyes rest, your breath slow, and your body remember what it feels like not to rush.

Think of it as a tiny postcard from somewhere quiet. This one is from Diafani, karpathos.

Save this for the days that feel too full.

I arrived here in the Maldives like most of us arrive on holiday.

Expecting my mind to downshift the moment I get here.

But the noise of work was still on my mind.the last-minute scramble to get projects tied up and everything organised.

You can change the view and wake up to the sound of waves instead of an alarm.
But your mind and body can still take a little while to truly let go.

Sometimes it is not until a few days later that you feel the shift. Your pace slows, your shoulders drop out of that laptop hunch, and you reach for your phone less often.

Our nervous system does not shift from go mode to slow mode in the blink of an eye.

It unwinds in layers, one breath at a time, until you realise you are no longer holding on at all.

I’ve been thinking a lot about the space between finishing one big project and stepping into the next.

The pause before you step into what’s coming.

In one of my keynotes, I talk about the space between the notes. How music is not only made by the notes themselves, but by the pauses in between.

Life can be like that too. All our efforts can become just noise without space to rest and refocus.

It can be so tempting to rush straight in, from one thing to the next, especially when it’s something you’re excited about.

But I’ve learnt there’s great value in taking a breath first.

A moment to recalibrate and steady yourself.

To let the nervous system soften and let go.

And to arrive at what’s next with a little more calm, rather than just momentum.

Because momentum is useful. It gets things moving.

But the pause gives you something momentum can’t.

It allows you to step into what’s next with more presence, intention and calm.

and to actually enjoy the moment you’ve worked so hard to arrive at.
