A Birthday Full of Smiles, Animals & Special Memories!

What a fantastic way for Ross to celebrate his birthday!

Ross enjoyed a wonderful day out at the Hunter Valley Wildlife Park surrounded by great company, plenty of animals, and lots of laughter. Joining him for the adventure were his wife, Pathhaven Support Worker Reggie, and Operations Manager Kym.

Ross had a great time feeding the colourful lorikeets and meeting a wide range of amazing animals throughout the park.

One of the highlights of the day was a very special birthday gift, the opportunity to feed the giraffes! Watching Ross interact with these gentle giants and seeing the smile on his face was something truly special.

Of course, no great day out is complete without a hot coffee to keep warm while exploring the park.

Back at home, the celebrations continued with a delicious Chinese lunch, birthday cake, and plenty more smiles as Ross celebrated with those closest to him.

At Pathhaven, we believe birthdays are about more than just cake and presents. They are about creating meaningful experiences, making memories, and celebrating the people we support in ways that are important to them.

Collaboration Over Competition.

Today, our Operations Manager, Kym, had the pleasure of catching up with Tomika Hillebrand, Founder and Owner of Hillebrand Shaw & Co, to discuss the future of the NDIS, the importance of strong provider relationships, and how working together creates better outcomes for the people we support.

What stood out most was the shared belief that the future of our sector relies on genuine collaboration, open conversations, and providers supporting one another rather than working in silos.

Pathhaven is also proud to discuss the incredible Pain to Purpose initiative, which is raising awareness and funds for Jenny’s Place through a powerful community-driven campaign and charity events. Pathhaven is also proud to be involved as a sponsor and support a cause that is creating meaningful change in our community.

At Pathhaven, we know that no single provider has all the answers. But when passionate people and organisations come together with a shared purpose, amazing things can happen.

🎤✨ “Let’s go girls…” ✨🎤

Trish absolutely lit up Newcastle Karaoke the other night when she grabbed the microphone and belted out “Man! I Feel Like a Woman!”, and let’s just say… she definitely drew a crowd!

For someone who used to love karaoke and getting out socially, this night was more than just singing songs. It was about reconnecting with something she genuinely enjoys, building confidence, creating memories, and having the freedom to simply enjoy life again

Supported by Pathhaven Support Worker Kylie, Trish headed out for a fantastic night in Newcastle and truly sang her heart out. Kylie said the atmosphere around Trish was amazing, with people stopping to watch, cheer her on, and enjoy the moment right alongside her.

The smile on Trish’s face said it all. Nights like this are such an important reminder that community participation is about more than just attending activities, t’s about joy, confidence, connection, and doing the things that make you feel like you.

Safe to say Newcastle karaoke won’t forget Trish anytime soon
