A brilliant day out can still finish with headphones on and no interest in chatting on the way home.

Community outings can involve busy venues, group conversations, unfamiliar sounds and plenty of decisions. Someone may enjoy the experience and still need quiet time afterwards.

That downtime does not erase the laughs, choices or moments of connection from the day. Sometimes it simply means their social battery is empty.

Campability SA provides NDIS community access and disability support for adults across Adelaide, with activities shaped around individual interests, needs and goals.

How high can we build before it topples? Parkside’s tallest tower competition had some serious contenders! 😄🏗️

Our Campability SA crew packed plenty into the week:

🏊 Swimming at Salisbury
👩‍🍳 Leigha enjoying cooking class
🐉 Hong Kong Dragon Asia Fest followed by lunch at Chinatown food court
🎨 Painting ladybirds and Nick getting stuck into his own painting
🎲 Games and tallest tower competitions at Parkside plus games at a nearby park
🍳 Cooking chicken stir-fry, dumplings and chicken sausage curry with rice plus preparing to cook fruit sausage curry
🎉 Celebrating Nick’s birthday
🏡 Fun at Parkside house and boys’ night at Heard St
🕺 Keeping the fun going at Club Cool!

From choosing lunch in Chinatown to getting hands-on in the kitchen, there was plenty to enjoy across our Adelaide disability support activities. 💛

The first night away often begins long before the participant arrives.

It starts with the details families know best: the usual evening routine, favourite foods, what helps when plans change and the familiar item that always earns a spot in the overnight bag.

Campability SA’s Short Term Stays include meals, accommodation and activities matched to participants’ interests and NDIS goals. Support ratios of 1:1, 1:2 and 1:3 are available.

A photo with chef and restaurateur Callum Hann, milkshakes and Luca’s birthday celebrations. Happy birthday, Luca! 🎉

We joined Aunty Ros Cameron for Painting Botanicals at Artspace, Festival Theatre. At Heard St, Shane made chocolate chip cookies and we got creative painting garden kits. 🎨

Gardening, an outing to Hope Valley Reservoir and Nick’s line dancing were part of the mix too! 💛
