We often have this assumption that every big shift in our awareness, beliefs, life, has to be from a “big obvious problem” that creates the biggest shift

But honestly the flow on effect from the micro movements, the micro awareness, the subtle shifts change more than we realise possible in the moment

It could be things we consider “small” like the:
offhand comment at a football game 8 years ago.
The small trigger of that friend.
The thing you nearly brushed past because it didn’t feel important enough.

That’s usually where everything is anchored

And when we gently work with that, instead of pushing past it..
the ripple effect is wild.

Clients come in for one thing…
and leave sleeping better, thinking clearer, responding differently, feeling more like themselves again.

Not because we forced a breakthrough.
But because we followed what was actually there.

That’s what a few clients said recently… and it unfolded this awareness and conversation

Your body is not holding on to pain to hurt you… it is holding on because it hasn’t felt safe to let go 🤍

Firstly, when you are stressed the nervous system tightens, inflames and amplifies pain. The connective tissue (fascia) can hold tension, past trauma, and become tight, restrictive, sticky in a sense. The fascial tension can create pain, pulling patterns, pinching sensations and limit movement.

When you feel safe, the nervous system softens, fascia can rehydrate, release and move more freely

When there is a lot of pain, the body braces as protection. Unprocessed emotions can show up physically through both muscle and fascia

When we support your nervous system, and it learns it is safe, and no longer has to be so activated in the sympathetic nervous system and can let go

Less bracing + more free connective tissue = less pain

this technique came up in session, and it is up there as my favourite technique both having been a client myself and as a practitioner

Witnessing, the shift in her from survival mode, stuckness and overthinking… into clarity, creativity, and deep inner knowing.

And the answer that came through?

Crystal clear. Full body yes.

Within 2 days, she had already taken action and created the very thing she once felt stuck around.

That’s the power of getting out of your head and reconnecting to yourself knowing how to communicate with the answers within

Holding space isn’t about fixing, advising or having the perfect words

It’s about the presence without trying to change what’s there

It’s about disallowing the ego to panic of not feeling like something has to be said

It looks like choosing curiosity
Letting someone feel and be fully seen

It’s allowing silence to speak
Trusting that not everything needs to be solved

It’s a quiet kind of love and understanding

One that says, you don’t have to be anything other than what you are right now

And in a world that is always rushing
And trying to rush healing
That kind of presence is powerful

There's so many points and things I could say on this, but I'm going to keep it structured around these techniques..for now.

Kids with learning difficulties, ADHD, dyslexia, don’t just learn with their minds...they learn with their whole bodies and this is something I continuously see a lot.

There’s a powerful brain-body connection at play. Movement activates the parts of the brain responsible for attention, memory, and emotional regulation. When a child moves, they’re not “getting distracted”, they’re actually helping their brain organise, process, and store information.

🧠 Movement increases blood flow and oxygen to the brain
🧠 It supports neural connections that strengthen memory
🧠 It helps regulate the nervous system, making focus more accessible

That’s why things like tracing words in the air, marching, using their whole body to make figure 8's, or learning through physical play can make such a difference. The body is grounding the brain, giving it something to anchor to and ensuring the integration of information is actually communicating effectively.

For many kids, stillness can feel overwhelming. They become hypervigalent with so much stimuli, trying to give meaning to it, hearing sounds and turning to where this came from. Their eyes, processing and taking in information. Their lingual diaphragm, sounding out words, articulating their expression. Movement becomes their way of finding balance, clarity, and control.

When we understand this, we stop seeing movement as a problem and start recognising it as a pathway to learning.

Learning doesn’t just happen in the head. It happens through the whole system 🤎
