Firstly, Monat DOES NOT contain cyclic silicone which is what you will find in most “normal” hair care brands. It is not water soluble and it builds up on the hair! 🙅🏼‍♀️

Imagine a hair strand that is very porous meaning it is like a sponge and it has a lot of holes in it because it’s damaged. If your hair is like this it will lose elasticity, it’s going to be brittle, it’s going to break and it’s not going to be very strong!

Monat uses an ingredient called amodimethicone and it is semi water soluble! This ingredient goes in and fills in the areas (holes) but will never build up on the outside of the hair strand. 👏🏻

So it still protects the outer layer, it goes in and packs in the holes, keeps the nutrients in the porus areas and it helps heal the hair strand, keeps it stronger so the hair strand can heal.

So if you have damaged hair from highlights, balayage, excessive bleaching and lots of chemical services and have porus hair because of it, we have some amazing shampoos like renew which contains amodimethicone and will help strengthen the hair strand without building up.
