🌱 From food scraps to living soil
We’ve been thinking about putting together a small, relaxed workshop at The Yurt for anyone who would like to learn more about what happens to our food scraps once they leave the kitchen.
It could be a chance to explore the whole cycle:
🥕 food scraps → Bokashi → worm bin → harvesting vermicast → back into the soil → preparing soil → planting a seedling
We’d look at the practical side of composting, including how to keep the process healthy and hygienic, as well as why closing this loop is so valuable.
And you don’t have to want to do the whole process yourself.
Maybe you simply want to understand the basics of composting and learn how to manage your own food scraps better.
Or perhaps you’re interested in the idea of keeping food scraps out of the waste stream without having to have a whole composting system at home.
We’re imagining a relaxed, hands-on couple of hours with plenty of time for questions and conversation.
We’re putting the idea out there to see if there’s interest locally.
Would this be something you’d be interested in?
If we can get 5 people interested, I’ll put something together. 🌿
