South Gippsland Community Health Foundation (SGCHF) funds our digital push.

The SGCHF has funded the $61,000 Look out Way Client Data Management System, to underpin our Support at Home (Home Care Packages) service.

SGCHF president Graeme Baxter said the digital program would help local people stay safe at home.

“We are proud to support SGH in helping people stay safe at home. This digital program is not just about working more efficiently; it is about providing better care. We are very grateful to the people of Corner Inlet, whose donations make projects like this possible.”

SGH Director of Community Care Samantha Park, welcomed the investment.

“This investment highlights the power of community-backed partnerships in sustaining and strengthening rural health services, ensuring local people can continue to access modern, reliable
care now and into the future,”

SGH is responding to national aged care reforms including the Support at Home program and the Lookout Way system is regarded as essential to that work.

🌟 The South Gippsland Community Health Foundation is proud to support Beyond the Badge—a powerful night of insight, connection and laughter.

Organised by the Yanakie Men’s Group, this event brings our community together to raise awareness of mental health and share real stories.

The Yanakie Men’s Group warmly invites you to a special community evening focused on connection, conversation, and a few good laughs.

Join us for “Beyond the Badge” on Saturday, 9 May at 6:00 pm at the Yanakie Hall. This meaningful and entertaining night is open to men and women aged 16 and over, with tickets $50 per person.

The evening will begin with a shared meal — choose from a selection of meats with salads or a vegetarian option — giving everyone a chance to relax and connect.

The first part of the night will feature two former Victorian police officers who will speak openly about their experiences with PTSD, how they navigated their way through it, and how it led them to create TJF – The Journey Forward, a registered charity dedicated to starting important conversations around mental health.

Following this powerful discussion, the night will take a lighter turn with a performance from one of Victoria’s best stand-up comedians, Matt O’Neill, guaranteed to bring plenty of laughs.

After the show, everyone is welcome to stay and enjoy a chat. The Settlers Hut will be open with the fire going, creating the perfect space to wind down and spend time together. There will also be lucky door prizes, making it a fantastic night and great value for money.

❤️‍🩹 **Building Life-Saving Skills in Yanakie**

What a fantastic afternoon at Yanakie Hall and Recreation Reserve, where 19 local residents took part in a hands-on CPR and First Aid training session delivered by Encompass First Aid.

Led by Rohan Bail, with valuable local medical insights from Phil Worboys of the South Gippsland Community Health Foundation, the session focused on practical, confidence-building skills that could one day save a life.

Local resident Tristan Brown reflected on the broader impact: “We now know we have people in our local community we can rely on if needed, plus it’s been a great opportunity to connect with each other.”

“First aid is crucial to saving lives in a rural setting,” said Phil Worboys.

A big thank you to everyone who attended and supported this important initiative in community safety and resilience.
