๐Ÿ’› Why we do what we do ๐Ÿ’›

Sometimes you get messages that stop you in your tracks.

At No Limits Geelong, we spend a lot of time talking about performances, films, radio shows, sports and programsโ€ฆ but at the heart of everything we do is something much simpler: helping people build confidence, find community and discover things they never thought possible.

Over the last week weโ€™ve received messages from families and guardians that honestly left us speechless.

One mum told us she had happy tears listening to her son speak on our radio show, sharing how much community access now means to him and how far he has come out of his shell.

Another proud nana told us she watched videos of her grandson performing and cried - because she never thought sheโ€™d see him stand in front of a crowd and sing with confidence.

And another family shared that after attending an expo with their sons, they finally felt like they had found what they had been searching for.

These messages mean more than any award, article or milestone ever could.

To our participants - thank you for trusting us.

To our families and guardians - thank you for believing in us.

And to our incredible support team and mentors - thank you for creating spaces where people feel safe to try, fail, grow and shine.

Weโ€™re only a few months into this journeyโ€ฆ but moments like this remind us that weโ€™re building something really special together!

Thank you for letting us be part of your story.๐Ÿซถ

๐ŸŽ™๏ธ Episode 4 of The No Limits Disability Hour is here - and what a show we had! ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿ’›

This week our panel tackled a huge topic, discussing what the proposed NDIS funding changes could mean for people with disability and sharing their own thoughts and experiences.

๐Ÿ‰ We also wrapped up all the latest all-abilities sports scores from the weekend and celebrated some fantastic results across Geelong.

And we werenโ€™t short on guests eitherโ€ฆ we had not one, not two, but THREE special guests! ๐Ÿ”ฅ

๐ŸŽง Mark and Lisa Miller joined us live in the studio for a fantastic chat, and...

๐ŸŽญ Tanya Bennett, CEO of Back to Back Theatre, joined us to talk about the ongoing Geelong screening of Agincourt at Geelong Arts Centre.

Another massive hour of conversation, community and plenty of laughs from our amazing radio crew ๐Ÿ™Œ

๐ŸŽฌ BRING ME NO. 9 IS NOW LIVE! ๐ŸŽฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ

One week after its sold-out world premiere, and following a fantastic feature in the Geelong Advertiser on Saturday, we are incredibly proud to finally share our first short film! ๐Ÿ’›

Bring Me No. 9 is the result of months of hard work from our amazing filmmaking group - our actors, writers, director, camera operators, sound crew and editors all played a vital role in bringing this project to life.

What started as an idea became a film, then a premiere, and now it's ready for everyone to enjoy. The laughs, creativity, teamwork and passion that went into making this film were truly something special, and we couldn't be prouder of everyone involved ๐Ÿ™Œ

The journey doesn't end here either - we'll now be entering Bring Me No. 9 into the Focus On Ability Film Festival and seeing just how far this incredible project can go ๐ŸŒŸ

We hope you enjoy watching it as much as we enjoyed making it.

๐ŸŽฌ Congratulations to our entire filmmaking team. This achievement belongs to you. ๐Ÿ’›

๐Ÿ‘‰ If you enjoy the film, please share it far and wide! Every share helps showcase the incredible talents of our participants and spreads the message that great stories can come from anywhere. Let's see how many people we can reach! ๐Ÿš€

๐Ÿ“ฐ OUR PARTICIPANTS ARE MAKING THE NEWS! ๐Ÿ“ฐ

Over the last two days, two of our groups have been featured in separate newspaper stories - our Musical Theatre Group and our Filmmaking Group ๐ŸŽญ๐ŸŽฌ
While it's always nice to see No Limits Geelong in the media, what makes us most proud is that it means the achievements of our participants are being recognised by the wider community!

From stepping onto the stage for the first time, to writing, acting, filming and producing their own short films, our participants continue to challenge expectations and show what is possible when people are given the opportunity to pursue their passions.

We don't do what we do for the headlines, but it's incredibly encouraging to see the good work being done by our participants, support workers, families and volunteers being noticed.

A huge congratulations to everyone involved. The spotlight belongs to you ๐ŸŒŸ

And we're only just getting started. ๐Ÿ˜‰

At No Limits Geelong, weโ€™re passionate about social inclusion, health awareness and mateshipโ€ฆ and we saw all of that in spades at Buddiup ๐Ÿ”ฅ

The crew spent the day filming and learning more about the amazing work being done to bring people together, encourage connection and create a real sense of community.

Huge thanks to everyone at Buddiup for welcoming us in and sharing your story with us ๐Ÿ‘

๐ŸŽฌ Keep an eye out next week - the full video is coming soon!

๐ŸŽจ Art has always been a powerful way for people to express themselves... and for many artists living with disability, creativity can become a voice, a passion and a safe place ๐Ÿ’›

Thatโ€™s why events like the Mayโ€™d Arts Festival are so important. Behind so many incredible artworks, handmade creations and performances are people with hidden disabilities, sharing their talents with the community in a welcoming and inclusive environment ๐Ÿ™Œ

If youโ€™re around this Saturday, head along and support some amazing local creatives, makers and performers - you never know whose confidence and journey you might be helping support simply by showing up ๐Ÿ’ฅ

๐ŸŽ™๏ธ Episode 3 of The No Limits Disability Hour is now online! ๐Ÿ™Œ

Another huge show from our amazing radio crew - and this week, we tackled some really important conversations ๐Ÿ’›

In Episode 3, we discussed dating and relationships for people with disabilities, with our presenters bravely sharing some of their own experiences navigating the dating world โค๏ธ

๐Ÿ‰ We also wrapped up all the latest all-abilities sports scoresโ€ฆ although somehow Holly keeps ending up in the best players every single week for the Geelong West Giants - even when sheโ€™s the one reading the scores out ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ‘

๐ŸŽง Our special guest was Tobey Massey, No Limits Geelong support worker, who spoke about balancing university, football and disability support work - and did an awesome job in studio ๐Ÿ™Œ

๐ŸŸ Plus we gave away a $50 voucher to the The Slippery Mackerel Fish & Grill in Warralily to one lucky listener who correctly guessed the theme of our songs for the night!

Another fun, honest and powerful hour from the crew ๐Ÿ”ฅ
