Do you love this? Being mindful of what is going well, what we have, or what we love (even simple things) helps us rewire our brain away from negativity and fear based thinking, and towards noticing positive things that are true and realistic. Here’s something to prompt gratitude reflection in case you need it today.

Is it time for a little self care?

Is this what you need today?

If not, what calls?

May you find a way to give it to yourself very soon.

Remember, self care is not selfish, but simply a form of self-responsibility.

💡Motivation Often Comes After Action

One of the biggest myths about motivation is that we need to feel motivated before we can get started.
In reality, motivation often follows action, not the other way around.

When we're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, anxious, low in mood, or simply exhausted, waiting for motivation to arrive can keep us trapped in a cycle of procrastination and self-criticism. We tell ourselves, "I'll do it when I feel more motivated," but that moment often never comes.

Instead taking even the smallest step, based simply on the CHOICE to do so, can begin to shift things.

A five-minute task. Sending one email. Walking to the letterbox. Opening the document you've been avoiding.

These small actions create momentum. They give your brain evidence that you can start, and often that tiny beginning makes the next step feel more manageable.

This approach is used in therapies such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), where we focus on taking meaningful action even when motivation isn't present.

So today, ask yourself:

✨ What's one small thing you've been putting off?
Set a timer for five minutes and begin. You don't need to finish it. You just need to start.

Often, motivation is waiting on the other side of that first step.

Is this one of your values?

Living life from our values can help us feel grounded into a purposeful life, and bring some contentment, especially when times are hard.

If this is one of your values, I invite you to reflect on how you are interweaving this through your life, and any way it speaks to you at this time, to guide you if needed.

Lippy Legs 11! June 11th is World Lipoedema Day.

Lipoedema Australia's "Light up for Lipoedema" public awareness campaign will tonight have major landmarks, civic centres, and bridges across Australia illuminated in purple and pink to increase visibility of this disease. The goal is to prompt conversations, reduce medical misdiagnosis, and offer solidarity to women who feel isolated by the disease.

Did you know approximately 11% of women globally have lipoedema (called lipedema in some countries) which is a disease predominantly affecting the legs? Hence the Legs 11 reference, however many do not even know.

On the Gold Coast from tonight until Sunday you'll see these lights on the Broadbeach Sign, the Isle of Capri Bridge and Victoria Park.
