Find out what may be halting your weight loss journey in menopause- it may not be what you think

01/08/2026

Intense exercise like HIIT or long-distance running, releases the stress hormone cortisol. Normally, this isn't a problem but during menopause, your body is already under more stress from hormonal changes, making you more sensitive to cortisol spikes.

Chronically high cortisol sends a signal to your body to store energy for a future crisis.

Guess where its favourite place is to store that energy?

As visceral fat, right around your belly. So that workout you think is burning fat might actually be telling your body to hold onto it tighter.

So what's the answer? It's not 'no exercise,' it's 'smarter exercise.'
Focus on two things: first, strength training to build muscle, which is the number one way to boost your metabolism. Second, low-intensity cardio like long walks, swimming, or cycling.

These manage cortisol instead of spiking it.

The goal is to work *with* your hormones, not against them. When you swap that high-stress cardio for workouts that manage cortisol, you can finally start to see that stubborn belly fat reduce.

I genuinely thought menopause was periods stopping and hot flushes🥵Nobody warned me about the exhaustion, brain fog, anxiety, weight gain, poor sleep, mood swings and feeling like I'd lost myself somewhere along the way
The hardest part? Myself like so many women struggle in perimenopause for YEARS without even realising it.
If this is you... you are not lazy, weak or "just getting older." Your body is changing - and you deserve support, understanding and real answers

I’ve been through it all…

Weight gain, exhaustion, cravings, poor sleep, low motivation…
Menopause changes things.
That doesn’t mean you’re powerless.

So many women blame themselves for the changes happening in menopause, when the reality is your body is responding to major hormonal shifts that affect energy, appetite, sleep, mood, and weight. It’s frustrating when the things that used to work suddenly don’t anymore.

I struggled for years but took action on learning how to take back control of my body and now I’m sharing that with you

Menopause doesn’t mean giving up on yourself. You don’t need extreme diets or all-or-nothing approaches — you need support, understanding, and sustainable habits that work with your body now, not against it. 🤍
