This is a great opportunity to connect with community, share information about the supports and programs available through ODYS, and celebrate Pride with thousands of LGBTQIASB+ community members and allies.
We’re looking for people who are:

✨ Passionate about supporting LGBTQIASB+ young people
✨ Comfortable chatting with community members about ODYS
✨ Available for part or all of the day

These days most of us have heard of and understand taking a 'person-centred approach” (PCA),’especially in the disability sector.

Did you know that the concept of person-centred supports didn’t start in disability, and that it didn’t come from government or policy makers?!

In fact it started with a psychologist in the 1980’s, Prof Tom Kitwood (building on the work of Carl Rogers), who wanted to prove that the dementia supports of the day were failing. People were treated as diagnoses, not humans.
He named the problem Malignant Social Psychology (MSP) — and he identified 17 everyday behaviours that gradually cause harm and destroy dignity.
His brave message changed everything: The culture around a person can harm them more than dementia itself.

BRISSC and Zig Zag Support Centre is running a Q***r Community Healing group together!

🌈This group is focused on creating a space where q***r, trans and gender diverse survivors of sexual and domestic violence can come together to connect, build shared knowledge, and strengthen community-based responses to violence.

We will have 6 fortnightly Tuesday sessions📆
