Today's pranayama is known as "the yogic breath", where 1 cycle of breath occurs with each 1 minute. To break it down:
Beginners: start with 6 seconds breath in, 6 seconds hold (without gasping, must be comfortable), 6 seconds exhale.
Intermediate: 10-12 seconds inhale, 10-12 seconds hold, 10-12 seconds exhale.
Advanced (the yogic breath): 15-20 seconds inhale, 15-20 seconds hold, 15-20 seconds exhale.
Begin as slow as you need and practice daily, building gradually. Get your timer out and enjoy!
