SNAKE & TWIST:
Snake & Twist on the reformer—challenging balance, strength, and breath with every movement. It’s not about perfection, but about exploring control, fluidity, and building resilience. Each repetition is a chance to grow stronger and more connected.

Purpose:
To strengthen the obliques, shoulders, and hip stabilisers while improving spinal mobility, balance, and overall body control.

Last week at Native State, one idea stayed with me:
NATIVE STATE ACADEMY

Can we observe our thoughts without immediately believing the story they create?

Feelings such as sadness, grief, anger or joy can move through us, but they are not who we are.

Our thoughts can create stories around what we ‘feel,’ and sometimes we become so caught up in those stories that we forget to simply notice what is happening at the present moment.

This week I’m paying more attention to the words I use, the thoughts I repeat and the stories I create around my experiences.

Just observing. No judgement. 👀

More on this in my next Vitalis Journal article coming over the weekend. You may want to follow me there😊

Today’s lunch 💜

Purple sweet potato that I may have forgotten in the oven for a little too long 😂 But once I opened it up, it looked more like an amethyst crystal than lunch.

Added some beef and a simple green bean salad with cucumber and red onion.

Nothing fancy. Just colourful, whole food thrown together from what I had. And apparently a little crystal energy on the side 😂💜

SEMICIRCLE:
Semicircle on the reformer—fluid strength meeting deep opening. Each glide invites mobility through the spine and hips while demanding control, stability, and breath. It’s a balance of surrender and precision—lifting, lengthening, and flowing with intention.

Purpose:
To mobilize the spine, open the hips and chest, and strengthen the glutes and hamstrings while refining control and coordination through full-range movement.

My post-workout loaded GF toast 🌿

Wilted spinach underneath, cottage cheese, spicy biltong, boiled egg, a few walnuts and pumpkin seeds on top.

I’m a little obsessed with loaded toasts lately. They look pretty, taste good, are packed with goodness and keep me full for longer.

Now back to studying 📚 My goal is to have it all completed by December, before we head off to New Zealand for a three-week road trip. 🇳🇿

What if better movement isn’t about more control, but the right amount of it?

A different perspective on bracing, squeezing and controlling made me rethink how we cue movement—and where useful control becomes unnecessary tension.

I explored it further in my latest The Vitalis Journal article on Substack.
