OVA PREGNANCY CIRCLES 💫

Pregnancy asks a lot of you. Your body is changing, your days are changing, and often the way you see yourself is changing too. It can be exciting, tender, overwhelming and joyful, sometimes all in the same afternoon.

Most of pregnancy care focuses on the physical: scans, checkups, blood tests. Those things matter. But there’s often little space to simply pause, talk honestly about how you’re feeling, and be around other women who understand what you’re going through.

That’s why we created the OVA Pregnancy Circle.

A gathering, not a class.

The Pregnancy Circle is a small community gathering for pregnant women. There’s nothing to perform, nothing to get right, and no need to know anyone beforehand. You can share as much or as little as you like, or simply listen.

Each evening follows a gentle rhythm:

🫖 Arrive and settle in with a warm cup of tea and a few gentle movements to help you land in your body after the week

🧘‍♀️ Guided meditation to quiet the mind and make space to rest

📖 Reflective journalling with prompts to help you explore what’s coming up for you in this season

🎙️ Guest speaker – each week we’ll welcome a trusted practitioner, such as a midwife, doula or allied health professional, to share their knowledge and answer your questions

🫂 Connection and sharing – time to talk, listen and feel supported by women who are walking a similar path.

Hosted by OVA founder Michelle Smith | Fertility | Acupuncture our Pregnancy Circle is open to OVA patients and people who are yet to pass through our doors.

We know booking your first acupuncture appointment can be intimidating. You might be wondering if the clinic is nice, if the practitioners are professional, and whether the pins hurt! It’s natural to feel apprehensive about something that may be new or different for you, and our team tries our best to ensure the best acupuncture experience when you come to OVA.

During your first appointment your practitioner will take the time to take a thorough health assessment, conduct pulse and tongue diagnosis which are foundational principles in Chinese medicine, and then they will administer acupuncture.

We make sure you’re super comfortable during your session with heat lamps to keep you cosy and noise cancelling headphones with relaxing music to enhance your relaxation experience.

We are well versed in supporting needle-phobes so make sure you let your practitioner know if you’re worried about the needles - we have lots of tricks up our sleeves to make your experience as comfortable as possible.

The most common thing we hear from our patients is that they wish they met us sooner. If you’ve been wondering about whether acupuncture is for you please feel free to reach out to our friendly team with any questions prior to making your appointment.

Get to know our in-house perimenopause, pregnancy and postpartum queen Amanda Graham | Acupuncture | Chinese Medicine | Women’s Health 🤎

Amanda exudes a warmth, magnetism and energy that is infectious. Don’t let her gentle nature fool you, Amanda will kindly keep you accountable and encourage you to do the hard work to continue showing up for yourself.

Amanda found Chinese medicine through her own life experiences juggling a busy business with lots of staff while trying to prioritize her own wellbeing. Her own fertility journey led her to studying Chinese medicine and our patients are so lucky to have someone with such a depth of experience supporting them.

Spoiler alert, Amanda’s fertility journey ended with her twin boys and beautiful little girl and she spends her time out of the clinic raising her little humans with mindfulness, adventure and play 🤎

We love having Amanda as an integral part of the OVA team, and we’re sure her patients would say the same 💫

We spent last night at KAILO Wellness Medispa and our Clinical Director Michelle Smith | Fertility Acupuncturist spoke alongside Dr Dev Ameratunga and Maddie Burton ✨ with the incredible Kristy Morris and the topic of male fertility was discussed.

We love having these important conversations in public spaces so that we can break the stigma surrounding s***m health and male factor fertility. Male factor fertility is involved in 50% of infertility cases in Australia, yet it’s so often overlooked.

As Michelle says in this clip, we’re certainly seeing a cultural shift with more male partners wanting to take proactive steps to support their health and be an equal partner on their fertility journey 🫶
