A week left to have your say!
If you don't speak up and share your experience, how can we expect better outcomes?!

Head to the post below and find the links to the surveys in the comments. ๐Ÿ’š

Are you an older person using aged care or do you support someone who is?

We want to hear about your experiences. ๐Ÿ’ฌ

Your input will help inform improvements to aged care in Australia. You can take part by completing a short online survey.

Surveys are open until Wednesday 14 October.

The surveys take about 20 minutes to complete. Responses are anonymous and confidential.

This evaluation is conducted for us by Nous Group.

๐Ÿ’กDid you know? ๐Ÿ’ก

That according to Dementia Australia's State and Territory Electoral Divisions Dementia Prevalence Data estimates โ€“ 2026-2054, Gympie is Ranked #12 across 93 State electorates for the prevalence of Dementia.

We can also reduce our risk factors associated with a Dementia diagnosis by up to 45%.

It may be something as simple as having your hearing checked and corrected, which can reduce your risk by 7%

Or as we age, we can reduce the risk by a further 5% by staying connected and social - meeting up with friends or having a meaningful conversation.

Dementia is the leading cause of death in Australia - how are you reducing your risk?

30/09/2026

We recently had the privilege of being a guest Q&A panelist at a recent Uni SC Gympie Healthy Ageing forum.

It was such a great session, and a timely reminder of why we are such huge advocates for the benefits of group sessions.

Not only do you get your therapy session in, you make friends, build social connections, reduce isolation, your motivation increases, you get feedback and encouragement from your peers, practice real world skills, build confidence, a sense of belonging, it can feel less clinical ANDโ€ฆ
You can spread your funding further!

We are passionate about helping people prevent or delay the onset of dementia.

You can have individual goals, but it doesnโ€™t have to be a solo journeyโ€ฆ

โ„น๏ธ NDIS FUNDING CHANGES FROM 1 OCTOBER 2026

There is a lot of information, misinformation and uncertainty circulating about the upcoming NDIS funding changes. We know many participants, families and support providers are understandably worried about what these changes could mean for them.

So, rather than adding to the noise, we want to share the information directly from the horses mouth - The Department of Health, Disability and Ageing.

From 1 October 2026, changes will begin to be introduced to funding for:

โ€ข Social, Economic and Community Participation
โ€ข Improved Daily Living Skills

The changes will be introduced gradually over the next 12 months as participant plans are created, reassessed or renewed. This does not mean everyone's funding changes on 1 October.

The impact will also be different for each participant, depending on their individual plan, goals, circumstances and support needs. Some supports within these categories will not be affected by the changes.

If you're an NDIS participant, now is a good time to understand what these changes could mean for your own plan.

We recommend reading the information directly from reliable sources rather than relying on social media comments sections or information being shared second-hand.
