The beautiful Banksia pod is natures own birth comb.

This is a fantastic natural resource that we are so lucky to have in Australia that we can utilise in our birth tool kit.

The pod is used like a birth comb where you squeeze it when you are needing a distraction from your contractions. It’s great because it works right around your hand you don’t have to hold it in a certain position. It’s simple and easy to use and it can handle a fierce squeeze.

Having a business as a birth worker is as rewarding as it is challenging. There are so many beautiful moments that we get to walk with our clients but there is also times of sadness.

Motherhood is not always aesthetically beautiful. It can be a raw, real, bloody mess and as a doula my heart is to be there for all of it.
